  1. Thanks for your responses! To be honest, I bought it here as a double but I didn't realize until now that and AUS double is not the same as a UK double! It's 1900x1370mm. I was going to buy new furniture in the UK and just ship some boxes, but checking out prices at IKEA the cost of a new bed + mattress in the UK is about the difference between shipping boxes and a Movecube - and I get to chuck in anything else that fits too, which is more money I don't need to spend when I get there. A other users have commented, it's also one less thing to find time to do when I get there. Thanks
  2. Hi all I've lurked for a while whilst I debated what to do, but I've finally made a decision to go. I've read lots of useful information on here about lots of things (many of which I hadn't even considered!) but I'm hoping someone has some experience of the following please:- Movecubes - I live in a very small 1bed apartment and was originally thinking of just taking boxes of books, valuables etc and ditching the rest, but I've realised that after factoring in the replacement costs of everything in the UK (not to mention time) it's probably easier to use a medium Movecube. I can then take my bed, TV, kitchen stuff as well as the boxes and whatever else will fit in. Does anyone know if the quoted dimensions for Movecubes are internal or external? The medium Movecube is, in theory, slightly too small for a double mattress but if the dimensions are internal then it should go in with a bit of a bend. The bedframe comes apart completely and will go in diagonally across the largest side. Otherwise, it would have to be a large Movecube which is too big and would skew the financial argument the other way. I will be staying with my parents and/or friends initially so I won't know where the cube needs to go. Does anyone have any good/bad experience of changing the delivery address and/or storage period with SevenSeas? I'll call SevenSeas and ask these questions but it would be good to hear any first hand experience if possible please. Moving Money - I have a quite a bit of money saved in the bank for a house deposit (never could bring myself to buy here - I eventually figured out why!). I still have my UK accounts but I'd like to put it straight into an ISA or something until I need it so it continues to make interest and doesn't get eaten away in moving costs etc. As I won't be able to set one up from here I was going to transfer it directly to my mother so she can set it up in her name. After reading various posts on here I'm confused if I would be setting my mother up for a tax problem or not. Or would I be better transferring to straight to my own account and sorting it out when I arrive? Thanks Stuart
