Visa 309 applied for and sent 13/06/2015 payment taken and still no contact from case officer, is this about normal? Not unduly concerned as lots to arrange but 4 weeks seems a little long as they took no time at all to take my money.

Ok after much discussion ( much of it over a bottle or two of wine) we have taken the plunge visa 309/100 submitted today, not a forgone conclusion with my wife having multiple sclerosis but all the advice we have received seems to be positive so fingers crossed, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Thanks for the reply and this is totally and completely for the Adventure and something new will take a look at Townsville as we have no hard and fast idea and we will embrace the oz way of life 100% and if it is not for us we can always come back.

thanks for the responseMy last Job was as an Operations manager for a Cash in Transit Company, not sure there will be a great deal of call for that so I will looking at Junior or Middle management jobs, I do have a degree in business management but to be honest will look at all and sundry as we are looking at this as a fresh start after a few bad years.

For now would like the truth rather than the hype, I will need a job consensus seems to be you need to be in situ to really get the search going I do have funds available so can self fund for a while,will look at renting for a while. Was really after cost of living compared to UK, food shopping, clothes, eating out, cinema , health care, fuel, household costs. All of this just as a general outline

Hi all, due to a change in circumstances here in the UK the idea of moving to Oz has risen once again in my household, due to a quirke of birth I am an Australian passport holder, I am slightly older than the norm I imagine and I suppose all the normal stuff does apply, fresh start, better quality of life (I do have kids but they are older and hold oz citizenship) thoughts on if this is good idea or not are most welcome. We are looking at the cairns area as we have visited a couple of times but have no hard and fast rules.
