Hi all, just wanting to get some advise for my friend.
What is the current immigration requirement in Australia for children with disability?
My friend is wanting to migrate in Australia and one of her son is deaf. He is 7 years old.
What are the chances of them getting approved?
My friend's qualification is fine. If it wasn't for son's disability they would have applied straight away.
Cheers for your input.
Thanks,
-
If you have been granted residency (186 visa) 2 weeks ago then you can apply for citizenship next year.
You will need to be at least 4 yrs in Australia (regardless of any visa as long as lawful) and at least 1 yr permanent resident.

Sometimes people ask for an urgent ceremony if they need to travel, want to get earlier access to government tuition support, etc., otherwise normal applies to most people.
Thanks MaggieMay24, if that's the case what's the standard wait time for the ceremony. Just curious.
I asked my friend and she was on Normal. Waited 7 months for it. i don't mind the wait but interested to see anyone who had experience on Urgent and what was the wait time.
Cheers

Hi all, just curious as what does type of ceremony means? Urgent or Normal? is this something you choose when you apply?
Thank you.

yes you will need to for Occupational Therapist. Check border website and look for SOL. From there, find your occupation to see who is your assessing authority.

I'm over it! It will happen if it happens!

Good morning everyone, just letting you know that my MA just wrote to me following:
Based on previous applications that we have lodged and advice we are getting back from the DIBP, applications are taking around 3 months to finalise.
I have gone through my 100 days, I no longer believe in 3 months, much if you get allocated to NSW.

Another question guys, how would I know if nomination has been approved without contacting HR?

I have one question if someone help me in this situation
I applied Nomination 29 may 2015 and visa 1 june 2015
medical and police clearance done after application
i am worried about IELTS going to expire on 25th august 2015
if case officer allocate after this date ..ask for new IELTS?
anyone have idea?
Thank you in advance
@chintan1885 it should be from date of application in which your IELTS is still valid and not the date they look at your application. I'd be interested to know inputs from others who had the similar experience.

Think we've had one person on here approved but his seemed to be an anomaly as it was approved extremely quickly.

Hoping to get approved this month :arghh:
it's been on application received since.

Hi binkaf,
I lodged the visa on 29th of Apr (nomination already approved) but haven't heard anything as yet.
It says application received since then.
Waiting, waiting, waiting
matteob8610, mine is the same (25th of April). Still waiting ...:arghh:
-
Just wondering where did you get this information from that says you cannot leave your job over a month if you are on 457 ?
This isn't true. I am on 457, went overseas for training (5 weeks) and never had any issues coming back. 4 months later, I went to a 6 weeks holiday overseas again and did not have any issues on my entry.
-
Even if it was a 186 it would be no problem as long as it was through the Direct Entry Stream.
186 would still require nomination from employer. So either the wife would apply on Direct Entry as she already have the nomination or the husband will speak to his employer to get the nomination done.

Hi all
I'm currently on my spouse's 457 visa. We would now like to apply for a 189 with my skills.
Someone told us that this is not possible, but I don't understand why it would be a problem!
thanks in advance...
There shouldn't be any problem. They are probably confused with 186!

If a person is on bridging visa (application is for permanent residency), will the University accept you as a domestic student or still international student?
The course fee if you are an international student is ridiculously expensive and looking on options if have to wait or I can do it now.
