May 2016 and he left Oz in June 2016 - so has been out for 14 months now

Hi, my son has a PR visa through me. He went back to Uni in the UK last June and now has decided to go travelling. He has been out of Oz for 13 months now already and I am worried he will have Visa issues. What are the rules about him travelling / working overseas? I don't want him to cock up his Visa - I heard he has to be back in Oz before 2 years is that a fact or have the rules changed? Thanks Mark

Hi all Been here in Oz and loving it for 3 years and got PR 6 months ago. I actually handed my British Army ID card in 12 months ago after 20+ years Regular and Reserve Service. I have been going through the recruitment process and have passed everything so far and offered the roles I was interested in (including medical) I knew that there were citizenship requirements (so did Defence of course) but the application was processed anyway and they are applying for a citizenship waiver apparently...Anybody been through the same process with a positive result? I am not getting any younger so this might be my last opportunity, waiting another 12 months might be an issue Thanks for any feedback

Its a great question and i have not inquired, so i will have a chat with HR this week, to see what the options are. They arranged it all prior to me relocating from the UK. I was doing the same role there, just transferred over

Thanks for the response, that's good news as they want to send me away again to try and find some more business in ASIA...but something i heard had my alarm bells ringing and the though of my travels delaying the PR process really made me think about the travel

Hi all, I have been in Oz on a 457 for over 18 months now and all good. I hope that my company will sponsor me to PR at the 2 year point...however, I have worked away with my job outside of Oz quite a few times....Say a total of 8 weeks in all, do I have to add another 2 months onto the 2 years before I can apply for PR? Silly question I know but has potentially a few implications for me and the family....Ta
