Hope someone can help!!, i am moving to Darwin in April 2016, i currently work within social care and so this is the type of jobs i will be looking for in Darwin, it was my hope to apply for jobs before i arrive, however i have found i need to apply for a "working with children card" or "ochre card", does anyone know if i can apply for this card before arriving in Oz, or would i need an Australian address? thanks in advance! Kelly

  11. I'm moving to Darwin in April 2016, and cant wait! Darwin looks like a fantastic place!! but to answer the question, yes, you have to stay on a 489 kelly

I used the visa bureau, my case worker was a lady called Sue Tempany, who was fantastic and always happy to help! even putting up with my constant emails and phone calls! the website is http://www.visabureau.com/ i found the service to be really good value for money! we move on the 23rd of April!! hope this helps!   13. I think it was around 2 months....at the time felt much longer!! it's just me and my partner....just can't wait to get there now!! Fingers crossed! Let me know when you get the all clear and I'm sure we can meet up in Darwin!

  16. We waited around 2 months, but the visa has taken just under 12 months to be fully completed we have no idea at the moment....which is daunting, we have a temp place to stay when we arrive and then hopefully we can find the place we want to move to where have you been looking at? Kelly

I have very recently completed my commitment statement, the key point is to show how passionate you are about living in NT and what research you have done, include any clubs you might want to join and also what things your children are excited about. we move on the 23rd of April, the visa has only just been accepted! if you need any further help then let me know Kelly
