  1. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer some advice based on a similar experience. My partner and I lodged an onshore defacto application last May (I am an Aus citizen) and are waiting on a decision to be made. He is currently on a Bridging Visa e with no work rights, so we are dependent on my income alone. We submitted a request for work rights based on financial hardship, as my salary doesn’t cover our basic needs plus I am 6months pregnant due to go on maternity leave in May which is completely unpaid, so we will soon have no income at all. We do have a small amount of savings (approx. $2k) but it’s not going to last very long. It’s been nearly 4weeks since we requested work rights and still haven’t heard anything, so I’m starting to get really worried that they might not actually be granted. Has anyone been through or know someone that has been granted work rights on a bridging visa e? Thanks a mil
