Hi ,
I just thought id get a feeler for my chances of finding work ( i am sure people ask this all the time time ) , i am moving to Brisbane/Goldcoast ( in-between but do not mind working in either place ) at the end of august. My girlfriend is already there (she is Australian, i am going on a 309 partner visa) just sorting a few loose ends before i come out there. I am 30 years old, BA with honours in business/business computing and work as an application support analyst for a big ftse 100 firm. I support a massive retail builders merchant (pricing, sales, inventory ect). I use oracle and SQL server and I also provide second line support for other bespoke sales applications. The ftse 100 group I work for own 17 different merchant brands and I am exposed to a wide range of applications. I have gained all my I.T experience from this company over the past 2 years since graduating. I have oracle certificates and I am ITIL certified. Am i going to struggle for work in this kind of area??I have noticed people say its outsourced a lot in OZ.... its silly really as we tried outsourcing some development work abroad and they are normally useless as they just don't understand the business what so ever and i think this is way more important than how well you can write/read code. I would be open to moving away from application support.... perhaps a BA role ( junior ) ??

Thanks for the info! I did think this actually about the middle seats, and iv already looked on REALOEM.com and found the part i need. I have the fixing point for it in the chassis but i just need to cut a hole in my parcel shelf to mount the OEM anchor like it is above. Id rather do it myself as i don't trust your average garage monkey to do it neatly

SOOOO I'm another lucky person today too….. i got quoted 10-14 months and i just got my 309 visa grant notice!! 8.5 months! i can't believe it. Il still be leaving in august but I'm so surprised it came through this early. good luck to everyone still waiting. :cute:

Jump on the website if you want a breakdown of the numbers, but at face value yes it certainly looks like it's worth it. I love the M Sport diesel combo.
Thanks for the info! i was also concerned about resale over there as dont they prefer the petrol cars?? I would think with the fuel prices over there the 3.0d would be ideal really and really economical! i also wanted to ask, with GM and ford stopping production in australia what is likely to happen to import tax's/dutys and rules?? is it likely to change soon?? Surely the cost of shipping cars into oz will have to come down

Hi, just some advise please.
I have a 2008 lci bmw 530d msport in grey. High spec with most optional extra's in near new condition. Would it be worth my while taking this over? When I was over there I did notice German saloons / tourers fetched good money

i just wanted to ask , does anyone have the CO with initials LG?? i haven't seen anyone on this thread with this CO. its slightly concerning :swoon:

Apart from the initial hello/confirmation of my application email from my CO I haven't had any further contact either. In that email I was given the time frame of at least 10-14 months and told to email any enquiries to the Europe Service Centre. No other contact details given for my CO.
See this is exactly the same as me. No direct email. They won't give me It either when I called them . Is there initials LG by any chance?

I have a couple of questions for you guys, I know my co name but have no contact details for her. Is this something they now do to stop them getting harassed all the time? Iv had no feedback at all from her and im worried. My other question is when did they change the visa processing times from 8-9 months to 10-14 months??

Hi , new the forum. Lodged my 309 application on 23rd September 2014. Got my Medicals next week! I know it's a hard question to answer but the wait time for me is the current 10-14 months but I think I applied shortly after they introduced this new waiting time. Judging from what iv read and people have been getting there's around 9 months would I be a little optimistic to think I could get mine around the 10-11 month mark?
