  1. Hi Frostie, my situation is similar to yours except I have never been to Oz. My husband is over in Sydney working at the moment. We are looking at the hills too. We are awaiting the result of our 457. We have a daughter who is 15, in year 10, started her GCSE last year. I just wonder whether it's the right time to take her out of school. After reading all these comments, I really don't know what to do for the best. :-( My daughters education is one number one priority.
  2. Hi all, We applied for our 457 visa through a migration agent on the 12th February and have not heard anything back yet. I have seen that some people applied after us and have had the visa granted. Anybody still waiting? Thank you
  3. Hi Bob, I really hope Sydney is still open in September as we are hoping to bring two English Bulldogs over to Oz. We are still awaiting the outcome of our visa but have set the wheels in motion with the dogs rabies and blood tests. One of the bullies rabies injections was done a year ago, the other bully 2 weeks ago. Bloods are booked for the end of the month and all being well with the results are hoping to fly them over in September. Is it definitely true that Melbourne will not accept the snub nose dogs once Sydney closes? I am now starting to panic. Thank you for your help. Mandy
  4. Hi NickyNook, yes I am aware I have to pay school fees. Are there any other areas/schools you could recommend also. Open to any ideas. Thank you for your advice, very much appreciated.
  5. Hi everybody, I'm new to this site and was hoping you would be able to point me in the right direction. I have never done anything like this and really don't know where to start. My husband is working in Sydney at the moment and has been since the middle of November 2014 on a subclass visa 400 which ran out in the middle of February. The company he works for has lodged his 457 visa on 12th February. We have been told to expect an answer in 4 to 6 weeks. At present he is on a bridging visa until we find out the outcome of the 457 visa. Our main priority is our 15 year old daughter who is currently in year 10. I was wondering if anybody could recommend any fantastic state schools and areas for which we could live in. (Rouse hill and Kellyville have been mentioned but I wondered if anybody could shed any light on these areas and if the schools were suitable) My husbands company is based in North Ryde, he obviously does not mind commuting. Thank you for your advice.
