  3. Hi Rammygirl. Thanks so much. I did exactly that 😀

I did call the immigration dept and although they weren’t much help- as it wasn’t a personal response to my case more generic advice - they pretty much said the same.
They also advised to follow up with an email- which is did.

Thank you for your reply! Much appreciated!

  4. Good evening everyone I hope you’re well.

I recently (September 2020) submitted my citizenship application and “front loaded” I.e submitted all documents including but not limited to my UK police check.

I have just received a further information request asking for my police check.
I’m not sure what else they need/ want from me?

My ACRO police check is dated within the last 12 month and states my maiden name.

Since applying for citizenship and the police check I have not left the Country.

Has anyone else been asked for their police check twice or know what I need to do?!

Any help would be amazing! Cheers!

    Hey,

You don't need to do Australian police check as department does it internally. You only need foreign police check if following applies to you

If you have spent a total of 12 months or more outside Australia since we granted you a permanent visa, you need to give us overseas police certificates from every country, including your home country, where you have spent a total of more than 90 days since you turned 18.

If above does apply to you, then you can surely get your police check. But keep in mind that there are no CitizenshipTests happening at the moment, so there is potentially huge backlog of application that need processing

Hi! Thank you for your reply- as we returned back to the UK for a few months to pack up after validating our visas- this exceeded the 90 days so we will have to pay again unfortunately! I was just wondering if I send for the ACRO check now- 7 weeks premature of being eligible for citizenship, or would this pose a problem? I just wanted to be in a position to apply on the earliest date possible to prevent any additional wait times, It's already looking at 26 months.

    Any help would be great!

  6. Hi everyone!

Does anyone know if I can apply for the police check/ certificate/ clearance prior to being eligible for citizenship?

In approximately 7 weeks I can apply for citizenship, but I am conscious the processing times are longer than ever, so was hoping to speed up the process as best as I can.

I understand police check have a 12 month "validity" period for other applications but don't want to buy the check twice if it will be void for the citizenship application.

Any help would be great! Cheers

Download form 1300t, it is for paper application but will give you rough idea what information you need

Hey thank you for your help, I have done that and hopefully cracking on with everything.

I heard a rumor  that paper applications are often processed quicker, does any body know if there's any truth in that?

    Cheers!

  8. Thank you so much for you helpful advice! That is exactly what I needed to know! 🇦🇺

I will sure make a start scanning documents and I think I've completed our 10 year travel history so I'm hoping I've made a dint in the process!

Good luck with your application I hope it's quick! 🍀

    Cheers!

  9. Hi everyone! Thank you for your reply replies! 🇦🇺

We are due to apply in August - does anybody know if we can open up the applications online prior to this date- to start "front loading"  I think they call it? i.e. Make a start on uploading all the relevant documents? Then being in a position to simply press the apply button when eligible in August?

We are trying to make good use of our time in lock down 😀

    Good luck on your applications!

    Take care 🌞

  10. Hi everyone! Congratulations on your citizenship applications! 🇦🇺

We are due to apply in August and I was going to start planning and getting our documents together now.

Would anyone be able to advise on what we will need, I've heard a 10 year historic travel list, passport and I'm not entirely sure on what else?

Maybe someone has a checklist handy? No worries if not 😎

Also does any one have any hand hints/ tips on making this as painless as possible?! 🤷‍♀️

Also I'm presuming everything has to be signed by a JP?

Good luck on your applications! I hope they are speedy!

    Take care 🌞

  11. Hi Unzippy thank you for your reply.

Just regarding the logistics- Did you update your immi account when you left to return back to England with your UK address?

Did you have to apply for a RRV?

How did you request to sit the test in London?

I'm presuming once you passed in London, you then got invited for a ceremony back in Oz?

    Cheers Jade

  12. Hi Starlight7, I hope you are well!

Sorry I may not have been clear.

Of course, I understand the strict requirements before even being eligible to able for apply for citizenship, I just wanted to know if anyone has sat the test in England possibly due to commitments in the UK, after applying for citizenship.

The wait from submission to test is upto 20 months now I believe therefore I feel that there will be lots of people who apply for citizenship, then need to return home for whatever reason thus sitting the test in London.

Any help would be great! Cheers Jade

  13. Evening everyone.

I have been searching for an answer for a while on here, but to no avail 😞

I was wondering if anyone has sat the citizenship test back in the UK?

    What was the process?

How did you get on with becoming a citizen i.e completing the ceremony after sitting the test in the UK?

I'm conscious that the timeline is getting longer and longer from applying for citizenship, getting invited for the test/ interview then having the ceremony so this I feel is a pressing issue with people having ties in the UK.

    Many thanks 😀
