  1. We booked our flights last week flying Manchester to Perth dec 15. We searched around and spoke to both Singapore and emeriates about extra baggage allowance. Emeriates told me they use to offer 50lg per person for migrants however the oz gov cracked down on it and they are no longer able to offer. Singapore do offer extra 10kg if ur visa is a permanent one however when u book there's no where to add this in u just go to the checking in desk and let them know your situation. Personally we don't trust this so currently looking at shipment costs
  2. Fingers crossed for u guys I know the wait is horrid

  7. Hmm I really don't know, all sorts go through ur mind though don't they. We have tired to not think about it but a job opportunity in UK until we go has come up for my hubby and until we get a grant feels risky I case they require anything from employee (he's been with them 8 year) we are with a agent but don't want to go over her head by me calling direct?!
  8. Are you using a agent? We have applied for a 190 nsw. We were appointed our co on the 23rd June who requested our PCs which went the day after. They have everything required just waiting for our grant now. The wait is a killer.

  17. We have £10k saved so far though we have accommodation as we are staying with my brother in law who has plenty of room for us to stay and also has a car waiting for us for when we arrive. Looked a little further and thinking to get the extra points it maybe worth while my brother in law sponsoring us and go for a 489? Just asked the question to our agency waiting for a reply as this option has never been mentioned yet she knows we have relatives there!!
  18. State nomination is only available for a carpenter in nsw we want to be in Perth. Nsw as a condition of their state nomination require approx £22k
  19. Just to let you know, my husband said the toefl was a little easier. It's all computer based so you can read over writing and change easily. The speaking over he said was a little harder as you are taking to a computer not a person. We get his results in 5 days so will let you know the outcome. When does your husband do the persons?
  20. Can anyone advise? we are looking at going to Perth as we have family there, my husband is a carpenter. He has booked for his skills interview 7th June. We were hoping to go out on a skilled visa which means he needs 60 points at the moment we have 55, therefore to make our 5 points he needs 7s in all four categories of the ielts. He's done the ielts twice and got the same results each time (6.0, 6.5, 7, 8.5) and tried the toefl yesterday. He feels he is never going to do well at the test and wondered can we submit a eoi with 55 points? Or what are our other options?
  21. My husband did the ielts a couple of weeks ago 2nd time round. His results showing the exact same as the first time round, so he's decided to try another centre. Just booked him for the toefl. Anyone got any advice for him?
  22. We are currently going for the 189 visa however just waiting my husbands ielts results due 14 March (done second time round) and advised if all else fails there is state nomination. Can anyone tell me the positive/ negatives and some info for state nomination. We are a family of four my husbands a carpenter
