  1. James123456 you are making the right decision. I have been in Sydney with my family for the past 1.5 years and I can't fight off the homesickness. We are finding it very expensive and miss the extended family we have left behind. Not to mention the standards of education being better. Employment opportunities are far better in the UK. Keeping your house in the UK was a great decision (we did the same). All the best on the move back. Would be good to hear on how it all goes.
  2. Purchased a house recently after being in Sydney for almost a year. We're considering a move back to the UK as we are missing family and the pace of the UK. Does anyone know how much capital gains tax you need to pay if you have owned a house for less than 1 year.
  3. Is it 3 months wait from the EOI invite date or CO allocation date?
  4. Good to hear everyone is receiving their visa grants. We're still waiting....very long wait. Silverchair I have read from earlier posts in this thread that some applicants contacted the CO to see what was holding things up. In some cases the visa was granted several hours later.
  5. Hi Stan, thanks for asking this question. I can answer that as it was on my mind last year. I went out last year to research a move to Sydney. I have family there that said it would be feasible to move with a family of 4 to the suburbs. 100k would be ideal any lower and times would be hard. If you have a PR visa then you can qualify for some support from the state with school uniform, energy costs.
