How long can it take from the correspondence?

Hi guys,
been on this forum for a couple of weeks, and thought it's my responsibility to share my timeline.
I was granted the PR today (I'm over the moon btw !)
Nom application- June 2014
Nom approved- September 2014
Visa applied - 28th February 2015
More docs requested - 1st June 2015
Docs provided - 26th June 2015
PR granted - 8th June 2015
im based in Qld, processing centre is NSW
occupation - electronics engineer
high risk category.
Its been a long long time coming with so many ups and down.
but I'm unbelievably relieved now.
Guys sit back and wait, unless you are coming across a problem.
i know waiting is no fun, but nothing much you can do about it.
i wish you all nothing but the success (I'm pretty familiar with you all now)
thank you for all your views/ideas/timelines - it'd be a big fat lie if I say if I didn't find
any comfort with all that in the past hard times.
Congrats!
BTW, what docs were they?
-
I think ours will take a long time despite the date asked for it (22nd May)...Parent's IELTS and 4 Police certificates, and got school to go to (Can't go to school in my home country because of the difficulties and coping issue)
-
To put it bluntly...you wait! Sorry but nothing much else you can do.
I get that BTW. Worse is that I am overseas.

Got a mail from a DSO via MA
"Thank you for your e-mail.
The provided information has been attached to the application and will be assessed by a case officer in due course."
Now what?
-
Phi5ped did you submit nomination and application together?docs requested for Nominations or visa application?
Firstly, my father's nomination was put separately because of risk getting rejected, but MA put it in anyway
Secondly, both. So that seems to be the issue. Haven't heard anything
-
13th or March, docs requested on 22nd of May, submitted 2 days before deadline. Nothing yet...
-
Does "request complete" put you back in the queue?
-
Hi nemesis
what I understand there are looking (assessing)into my file ??, but I can't see any allocation of co , could you plz clarify my question
thanks
Not really. It is a status that most people get
-
Been quite a long time since we were requested for extra docs. 22nd of May...for both!
-
at the movement there is no decision ready file(it was 2 year before in my knowlegde), but if ur ma send all the document with form 80 to immi. we call it decision ready
Why do some require form 80 and some don't? I heard that low risk citizens do not have to do so
-
Same here - I submitted visa application 10th Feb, extra docs requested 25th May which were sent straight away. Immi had confirmed they had received them, and when I chased them up about it, they said my case was due to be reviewed again last week. Still said "Information requested" in my portal, so have just clicked the button and changed it to "application in progress". Hope this hasn't sent it to the back of the queue!
Did you have a MA?
-
No, no MA. But it was before the 28 days so should be ok Just worried it slowed things down, but not much I can do now! I've emailed my CO just to confirm everything is ok, but yet to hear back
Told my MA about the issue, because I thought my MA did it, which my MA replied no
-
I only noticed this button yesterday! I submitted my extra documents by email three weeks ago and they said they had been received and added to my application, however I can not see them in my Immi account... but I pressed 'Request Complete' anyway. Wondering if my application hasn't progressed because of this! It has now moved into 'Application in Progress'
Did you have a MA? I did it because of misunderstanding and at that time the 28 day period was over (I am not the primary applicant)
-
My timeline
Nomination : 10th Feb
VISA : 13th Feb
Asked docs for both: 20th-22nd May
Submitted for VISA : 17th June
One thing concerning is the "request complete" button pressed after the 28 day period...

Congratulations to those who got PR today.
What a difference a day makes.
3 approvals already today, I've got everything crossed hoping mine is coming soon.
We all hope the best. Our family waited for 2 years to get rejected (Trial) and return back (Coming...soon)
I never left to a different country in the 10 years we were in Australia when I came as a child...we couldn't

Hi all I have a question
does calling immi for progress update effect file ????
I know emailing them multiple times does
-
Hi Everyone
I just wanted to share my timeline and recent update on my SC186 application. My timeline is as follows:
Nomination lodged 11/09/2014
Nomination approved 23/01/2015
Visa Application lodged 16/03/2015
Visa approved - waiting
State - NSW
Occupation - L&D Professional
I recently discovered that as I am now on a bridging visa as my 457 visa expired in May, my daughter cannot enrol into TAFE until we become PR. I informed my MA of this and she said she would contact Immigration to see if they would consider processing my application quicker to allow my daughter to enrol into TAFE. Immigration contacted my MA today and informed them that usually they do not consider TAFE enrolment as a reason to grant priority processing but in this case they will allocate a case officer within a week from today. The officer mentioned that the allocation for my application has only been brought forward a week from the expected time a case officer will be allocated to my application. Therefore my application was lodged on 16 March and would be assigned to a CO two weeks from now, but has been brought forward a week due to enrolment issues.
Reposting this so I can get a reply
Do VISAs have priorities? I thought those issues did not matter to them. I am suppose to be in VCE but can't even attend school in my home country here because of the level differences and term date clashes
-
At-least VEVO should show bridging visa status
Agreed. But I think they alter a bit from other VISAs as they are like a priority for people waiting
-
i have the same error message in vevo.
However, when i access my immi account, i can view my file without any change since April 'application in progress'
Same thing happened here as well. I don't think VEVO has relations with VISAs under progress
-
"Entered details cannot be confirmed as the TRN/Visa Grant number/Evidence number does not match your current visa. Please confirm your current visa details and re-enter your enquiry. Otherwise, call 1800 040 070 and an officer will assist you."
Don't know what does that mean?
Isn't VEVO to check the status of a VISA not for one that is processing?

What's with the processing times? Why are they taking so long?
I wish everyone gets the Australian Dream!
