My enquiry is regarding the current COVID situation.

Are there any extensions to current visa's, I'm assuming the expiry date of our visa's can't be pushed out all because of this limbo situation?

For info, I'm still in the UK, we've not made the move yet, we have until 21st June 2023 to make the move, our visa are  Skilled - Nominated (subclass 190).

Another question is are we able make the move during the pandemic?

Any help on this subject is greatly appreciated.

I would also like to know this. We are yet to make the move. We have been granted a 186 employer sponsored visa.

    Hello everyone

    any updates pending applicants???

no news after submitted required documents for me?????

Still waiting from May 2016, my MA submitted documents that were requested for the nomination yesterday now I guess we wait again! How long have you been waiting since you submitted yours?

  5. Sorry I've only just seen this too! The visa will take around 12 months without the vetasses process etc, current application time is around 10-12 months for a 186 visa direct entry. My application is finally open after just under 13 months, so now we will wait and see what happens. When we originally put our 186 application in the processing time was 4-6 months so prepare yourself for a longer wait and then hopefully you won't go insane waiting like we have!

Hope everything is going ok with your vetassess, it's a long process but will be worth it!

Mate, my no.ination was lodged on May 17 and git approved yesterday. Wait more few days,,,, it is coming.

Congrats, it won't be long now for you! Seeing your nomination be approved has given me some hope at least! We're just frustrated as we are off shore and feel in limbo!

  8. No I did mine all from home, we just filmed it on a normal camera all I did was talk about what I was going to do and how I was going to do it first which was a couple of minutes and then filmed a little bit of the procedure, I sometimes talked through what I was doing as I was doing it. Was so easy and a very small part of my application, I did a lot of step by step with photos and writing.

We were originally going to apply for Qld but whilst I was waiting for my cert 3 from vetasses this was taken off this list! So had a job offer from Tasmania on a 186, but the wait times are so long, when we applied it was 4-6 months and now it's 10-12, the 187's are about the same so you may be in for a long wait also! Are you currently offshore?

  9. Hiya,

Glad you have found some of the info helpful! With the videos, I explained what I was going to do and then got my partner to film a minute or so of each technique. I can't remember what I filmed now but I did highlights and an all over colour, I also did a couple of cuts and blow drys. I provided photos for men's shave etc.

I think all in all the video would have been 10/15 mins long, as long as you show that you can do each technique I'm sure you'll be fine.

Unfortunately, we are still waiting on our visa! Our plans changed and we applied for a 186 visa last May which we are still waiting on, hopefully it won't be much longer!

Which visa are you applying for?

  10. Congratulations .... enjoy your new life as a Pr .... [emoji106][emoji4]what's your timeline...?

    Nom & Visa 30-Jun-16

    Info requested on Nom 06-Feb-17

    Info supplied 07-Mar-17

    Nom & Visa granted 09-Mar-17

Congratulations, great to see a DE application too. All the best for your new life!

  11. See that's what hurts more when we try to follow up in the hope to get some important information about our file and all we get as a reply is that our case hasn't even been allocated which we obviously can see on our immi accounts as well ..... same bloody stupid reply every single time .... I've literally lost all my patience ... try to stay positive but it has stretched so much that even trying is not helping anymore ....[emoji36][emoji30][emoji31]

know how you both feel, ours is 10 months and 5 days, I am constantly checking my immi account! Got my ma to check up on our application and they've advised we haven't been given a case officer yet, the wait is killing me! Starting to worry

  13. Hiya, I know I saw Team 6 when I could access the mailbox in my immigration account. .

Are you in the UK too?

yeah we are in the uk, applied offshore. All I can see on my application is received! At least you have had some contact, fingers crossed you will hear something soon.

  14. As verystormy put above it's a temporary visa and you are completely tied to your employer, there is no guarantee that you could get pr afterwards and if the employer no longer had a position for you, you only have so long to find another employer willing to sponsor you. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but for me personally I want the security of being a permanent resident and wouldn't consider a 457. Plenty of people do though and it works out great for them!

  15. If they are willing to sponsor you for a permanent residency visa I would absolutely take it, I've been lucky enough to find an employer willing to sponsor me for a 186 whilst I'm offshore, so it is doable, personally I wouldn't have considered a 457 as I feel they are too risky. The only thing I would say is prepare yourself for a long wait if you do go down the 186 route. We applied in may last year and we're hoping to move early this year but we have yet to hear anything regarding our application!

  16. Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for a long time now and hoping it will soon be my turn to receive my pr!

my partner and I are from the uk, offshore direct entry and submitted both the nomination and visa on 3rd may 2016 and we are yet to hear anything, hoping it won't be too long now as it's coming up 11 months, won't lie I'm getting slightly frustrated now!
