  1. I would also like to know this. We are yet to make the move. We have been granted a 186 employer sponsored visa.
  2. Nomination 1st May 2016 Visa application 3rd May 2016 Documents for nomination requested on 19th May 2017 which were submitted on 19th June. Im a hairdresser offshore direct entry
  3. Hi guys, So happy to say my visa was granted today after a long 14 month wait. Feels surreal after so long! For all of you still waiting, just keep going, it will happen eventually, good things come to those who wait!
  4. Just out of interest, how long have people waited after additional documents for the nomination were submitted before hearing anything? Mine were submitted a week ago and just want to hear something now! It's 14 months next week since we applied ?
  5. Still waiting from May 2016, my MA submitted documents that were requested for the nomination yesterday now I guess we wait again! How long have you been waiting since you submitted yours?
  6. Sorry I've only just seen this too! The visa will take around 12 months without the vetasses process etc, current application time is around 10-12 months for a 186 visa direct entry. My application is finally open after just under 13 months, so now we will wait and see what happens. When we originally put our 186 application in the processing time was 4-6 months so prepare yourself for a longer wait and then hopefully you won't go insane waiting like we have! Hope everything is going ok with your vetassess, it's a long process but will be worth it!
  7. Just heard from my migration agent that my nomination has been opened and they have requested additional documents, hoping it won't be too much longer now!
  8. Congrats, it won't be long now for you! Seeing your nomination be approved has given me some hope at least! We're just frustrated as we are off shore and feel in limbo!
  9. Are there many people that have been waiting for 12 months here? We applied on 1st may and I must admit I'm starting to pull my hair out waiting!
  10. No I did mine all from home, we just filmed it on a normal camera all I did was talk about what I was going to do and how I was going to do it first which was a couple of minutes and then filmed a little bit of the procedure, I sometimes talked through what I was doing as I was doing it. Was so easy and a very small part of my application, I did a lot of step by step with photos and writing. We were originally going to apply for Qld but whilst I was waiting for my cert 3 from vetasses this was taken off this list! So had a job offer from Tasmania on a 186, but the wait times are so long, when we applied it was 4-6 months and now it's 10-12, the 187's are about the same so you may be in for a long wait also! Are you currently offshore?
  11. Hiya, Glad you have found some of the info helpful! With the videos, I explained what I was going to do and then got my partner to film a minute or so of each technique. I can't remember what I filmed now but I did highlights and an all over colour, I also did a couple of cuts and blow drys. I provided photos for men's shave etc. I think all in all the video would have been 10/15 mins long, as long as you show that you can do each technique I'm sure you'll be fine. Unfortunately, we are still waiting on our visa! Our plans changed and we applied for a 186 visa last May which we are still waiting on, hopefully it won't be much longer! Which visa are you applying for?
  12. Congratulations, great to see a DE application too. All the best for your new life!
  13. i know exactly how you feel, it's great that September are being approved already but I wish they would remember the others too that have been waiting for so long! Are you onshore?
  14. know how you both feel, ours is 10 months and 5 days, I am constantly checking my immi account! Got my ma to check up on our application and they've advised we haven't been given a case officer yet, the wait is killing me! Starting to worry
  15. yeah we are in the uk, applied offshore. All I can see on my application is received! At least you have had some contact, fingers crossed you will hear something soon.
  16. Do you know where your processing centre is? We applied in may too and haven't heard anything yet, have just chased our migration agent. We are also offshore
  17. Can highly recommend go Matilda, they have been great with us so far!
  18. As verystormy put above it's a temporary visa and you are completely tied to your employer, there is no guarantee that you could get pr afterwards and if the employer no longer had a position for you, you only have so long to find another employer willing to sponsor you. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but for me personally I want the security of being a permanent resident and wouldn't consider a 457. Plenty of people do though and it works out great for them!
  19. If they are willing to sponsor you for a permanent residency visa I would absolutely take it, I've been lucky enough to find an employer willing to sponsor me for a 186 whilst I'm offshore, so it is doable, personally I wouldn't have considered a 457 as I feel they are too risky. The only thing I would say is prepare yourself for a long wait if you do go down the 186 route. We applied in may last year and we're hoping to move early this year but we have yet to hear anything regarding our application!
  20. Hi everyone, I've been following this thread for a long time now and hoping it will soon be my turn to receive my pr! my partner and I are from the uk, offshore direct entry and submitted both the nomination and visa on 3rd may 2016 and we are yet to hear anything, hoping it won't be too long now as it's coming up 11 months, won't lie I'm getting slightly frustrated now!
