  1. Thanks for your answers OZmaniac. We recently got and invitation to apply for 189. I have planned my IELTS in 2 months. Is it fine to apply for visa right now and take IELTS for functional english later to show to CO? When do you think it is appropriate to take medical and police check ups? Regards, Kim
  2. I have done a masters which was in English language. It was only one year long program. Can that help or should I go with IELTS?
  3. Hi, My husband has recently had a possitive result for his skill assesement and he has submitted his EOI this week. We are willing to apply for visa right after getting an invitation. My question is: - What is the best time for me to take an IELTS test, to prove english proficiency (I am the secondary applicant and we are willing to pay the least ammount of visa fees possible . - What is the required score for a secondary applicant. Thanks in advance! Kim
  4. Hi, ACS asks to submit the abstract of research if the qualificaiton is completed through research. In the case of my hubby he had to write a thesis for his masters. I could get the abstract with most of the required information by ACS. However, it doesn't contain any specific endorsement of the supervisor. Should I submit it as it is or should I ask him to look for the supervisor to get the endorsement (which can be quite difficult)? Is ACS strict about this? Does anyone have any experience with this? Regards, Kim
  5. Hey forum fellows: I've got a couple of questions about applying 189. In 2009 my husband completed his masters in System and network engineering. At the moment he has a little more than 5 years of experience which is closely related to 263111. Recently, we have decided to move to australia because of it's attractive weather, spacious cities compared to here in the Netherlands and many other reasons. My question are: I have read that a number of IT related skills are not getting invitation after EOI. is it also true for 263111 or should we not worry about it? As mentioned earlier, the MSc. of my husband is highly related to the skill 263111, although his bachelors is in mathematics. Should we only submit MSc. to ACS for skill assesement or should we also attach his BSc. diploma? We are afraid that in that case ACS will decrease the percentage of relevance of qualification. I noticed that his university has provided details consisting of many pages of his masters with the diploma as it's usual here. Should we attach those details as well when applying to ACS or should we keep it compact and attach least? Regards, Kim
  6. Hi everyone, Recently, my husband and I have made immigration to australia our new years resolution in 2015  At the moment we have started looking around for the procedure. It seems harder than we thought  but we are hoping to achieve our goal step by step. Meanwhile, PomsinOz looked like a nice place to connect with others who have already moved or planning to move to australia! Regards, Kim
