  1. Hi Bungo and Alaska, Thanks for your reply. I work in the hospitality industry. My contract states that approved overtime will be paid at penalty rate defined by award.
  2. Hi all, I have a query that I hope somebody can shed some light on. I am currently on a 457 visa. According to my visa requirement I have to work a minimum of 38 hour per week. I have been working more than 40 hours per week. However, my employer is not paying for my overtime. I have requested them to pay me back the difference. But, they have refused. So, my questions are:- # What can i do in this situation? # Is it not a legal requirement to be paid for the overtime? (As minimum annual salary is $53,900 for 52 weeks at 38hours per week.) # What rate should overtime be paid at? (for 457 visa holders) # Is there any legal action that I can take? Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks for pointing this out, I had no idea that the skills assessment is only valid for 3 years
  4. I already have a skills assessment from TRA valid since 2009
  5. Hi, thanks for your response, my visa has not been cancelled yet but I expect that it will be happening pretty soon
  6. Hi VERYSTORMY, thanks for your response. I have been working with my current employer for only 9 months and things are not going well. I am currently also trying to pass my IELTS test to get my required score so I think I am limited with my choices at the moment.
  7. Hi all, I have a query regarding the 457 visa. I currently hold a 457 visa which is due to come to an end and will need to find a new sponsor which I believe should be within 90 days after my current sponsorship ceases. My query is whether I would have working rights during these 90 days. I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this. Thanks in advance. Kay
