  1. Hello Dear Experts, I have received invitation for 189 visa on 23rd. Many thanks for all the experts who helped me during this process, I have started filling the visa application now. However, i have few doubts in filling the application. Kindly clarify below doubts. 1. Authorized recipient Does the applicant authorize another person to receive written correspondence on their behalf? This authorizes the department to send the authorized person all written correspondence that would otherwise be sent directly to the applicant. whom should i mention? Can i mention my wife's details here? My wife also will be travelling along with me. In that case, can i mention her name? 2. Employment in nominated occupation Has the applicant been employed overseas in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation at a skilled level immediately before lodging this application? I am currently not in Australia. Does this mean my current occupation in my home country? 3. Previous countries of residence Have any of the applicants lived in a country other than the primary applicant's usual country of residence? I was in UK(my home country is not UK) multiple times for an overall period of 2 years. Do i need to mention all my related stays?
  2. oh...thats great....thanks for all your suggestions....fingers crossed....
  3. Hello Ozmaniac, Oh...we only have few hours for draw
  4. Many Thanks Lebourvellec. Any idea about exact Australian local time the draw happens? Also, Could you please let me know when we can expect the letter once we get selected in the draw??
  5. Hello Lebourvellec, Many Thanks for your suggestion. I am software engineer(ANZSCO Code : 261313) with 65 points. What are my chances? Kindly let me know.
  6. Hello Dear Experts, Apologies if my question look silly, but appreciate your valuable feed back. I am bit worried about tomorrow's draw. Request you to kindly let me know the criterion DIBP uses to select the candidates. One of the esteemed member mentioned to me that visas will be issued to the highest points first and then based on date of EOI submission. Looking at the previous results from DIBP, http://www.immi.gov.au/Work/Pages/SkillSelect/results/19-december-2014.aspx it looks like more visas were granted for persons with 60 points than persons with 65 points. Correct me if I am wrong? Also, another below statement from DIBP website confuses me... "The highest ranked clients by points score are invited to apply for the relevant visa. For clients who have equal points scores, the time at which they reached their points score for that subclass (referred to as the visa date of effect) determines their order of invitation. Expressions of Interest with earlier dates of effect are invited before later dates." Does this mean a guy with 60 points will get invite than me just because he/she submitted EOI before i submitted(i submitted on 19/12/2014)? Kindly clarify. I had submitted my EOI on 19/12/2014 and later after getting better English results, i had amended existing EOI on 17/01/2015. Now, i have 65 points. Another basic doubt i have is it okay to amend existing EOI? or Do i need to create a brand new EOI? Does it anyway affect my chances?
  7. Hello Jonny, Many thanks for your suggestion. It cleared my doubts.
  8. Hello Ozmaniac, Thanks for your reply. However, i am little confused about your statement "Your experience up until October 2006 should be entered separately from the later experience with the pre-10/06 marked as not-relevant and the post-10/06 as relevant". I have worked for 2 companies during this 10 years. 1st company from 2004 till 2014 and 2nd from 2014 till today. In EOI, i had entered exactly same way. do i need to mention the work experience as per your above statement? Kindly advise. If i had to do it, do i need to mention something like this 1. 2004 till 2006 - Company XXX - Not relavant 2. 2006 till 2014 - Company XXX - Relavant 3. 2014 till today - Company YYY - Relavant. Also, hope you had checked the issue related to 'status' (i had pasted a pic of my EOI Page). Does it look correct? Kindly confirm.
  9. Hello Ozmaniac, I am software Engineer and all my 10+ years of experience is post my qualification. I had finished my masters in 2001 and started working from Oct 2004 My skills assessment was done in Oct 2013 and details from the assessment are as below Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 261313 (Software Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code. Your qualifications have been assessed as follows: Your Master of Computer Applications from xxx University completed August 2001 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Master Degree with a major in computing Your Bachelor of Science from xxx University completed April 1998 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor Degree with a major in computing The following employment after October 2006 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to 261313 (Software Engineer) of the ANZSCO Code. Dates: 10/04 - 06/13 (8yrs 8mths) Position: software Engineer Employer: xxx Also, my EOI home page looks like this. Here, please see 'EOI status', it shows submitted, but please see the comments under 'Result'. This is confusing me. Kindly advise
  10. Hello Ozmaniac, Thanks for your reply. Please see below for my points calculation. Also, i am getting few silly doubts regarding EOI submission. I had submitted an EOI earlier and edited the same EOI(after i got better score in English) today. Will that be okay? or Do i need to submit a new EOI, altogether? Please suggest. Currently, status on my EOI home page shows as 'Submitted' where as there is another entry under 'Result' as 'The EOI for this subclass is able to be completed. The client's claims equal 65 points' . I am little confused with the highlighted statement here. I had already submitted EOI, but it says to be completed under 'Result'. Appreciate your valuable response.
  11. Hello Ozmaniac, Thanks for your help. I have submitted EOI for 189. Once the draw is over on 23rd January, in how many days we will come to know about the outcome? Please clarify.
  12. Hello Ozmaniac, Many thanks for your help. You are awesome. As you suggested, i had only submitted my EOI for 189. Also, could you please let me know when is the next draw for 189? Thank you.
  13. Hello Experts, I am submitting EOI for 189. However, i have following doubts. Request you to clarify the below doubts. 1) Does the client have other current passports?* ----> Does this mean any other country's passport or old passport of same country. Reason why i am asking this question is i have a old passport. I am confused about this. Kindly clarify. 2) Also, is it a good strategy to apply for 189 and 190 in same EOI? ----> Since i have eligibility for both, i am worried what if i dont get 189? So, thinking of applying for 190 as well. Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hello Ozmaniac, Thanks for your reply. I will follow your instructions.
  15. Hello Verystormy, No, i have not got any state sponsorship yet. I am planning to apply for couple of states.
  16. No Verystormy. I haven't got any state sponsorship yet. I had submitted my EOI for one state. I was wondering how can i submit EOI for another state? (This is just to increase my chances of getting state sponsored). Kindly clarify
  17. Hello MaggieMay24, Thanks for your suggestion. I had submitted my EOI in DIBP for 'any' state sponsorship. As Ozmaniac suggested, I wanted to submit my EOI for couple of specific states. I could update my EOI for one state in DIBP skill select. However, if i wish to my EOI for another state, how should i do it? Is it updating it in the respective state websites? Kindly Clarify.
  18. Many Thanks Ozmaniac for your response. Your advises are clearing many of my doubts. Appreciate your valuable help. I am not eligible for 189. I am reappearing for IELTS for better scores so that i will be eligible for 189. However, i am eligible for state sponsored ones. As you suggested, i will submit EOI for each individual states and will await for the response.
  19. Hello Ozmaniac, Many thanks for your suggestion. I did calculate my points correctly and have got 60 points and already submitted EOI. However my doubt is, for 190, do i need to submit my EOI individually for each state or submitting one EOI in DIBP is enough? Please clarify
  20. Many Thanks for your suggestion verystormy
  21. Hello Experts, I am relatively inexperienced member. Apologies if my questions look silly. I am a software engineer with over 10 years of experience wishing to migrate to Australia. I got my skills assessed by 'Australian Computer Society(ACS)'. Also, done with my IELTS exam. I have filled up my details in 'Expression of Interest(EOI)'. I would like to request the experts to let me know that the way ahead for me with respect to 189 & 190. Please explain what steps I need to follow going forward. Thanks, Prax
