  1. hi there, does anyone have any information regarding australianskillsassessment.com ?? I cannot email them, comes back as undeliverable, and their phone numbers do not seem to work. I believe this is the company I need to get my RPL certificate but can't get hold of them
  2. Thanks for the reply, I believe once we have this it will all be fine as you said, however i'm still trying to ascertain the correct route in order to get my skills assessed and recognised by the Australian Gov for immigration purposes. I've been reading about AQF level 3, doing it online, having to do it in Australia, doing it in UK, Master Builders etc etc so I'm slightly unsure. I would be a Solid Plasterer by the way.
  3. hello there, first off excuse me if i ask numerously asked questions, I have just spent 3 hours reading different threads and have learnt lots but I guess each situation seems different so its hard to conclude. I am English, and my wife is Russian, we met whilst working in Thailand as diving instructors and it is now time to start a life in Australia. Abit about me: 27 years old, degree educated, many years experience as a plasterer but no qualification My wife: 26 years old, degree educated, fluent english, furniture designer for family business We are now looking to migrate to Australia, and I have passed the points system. We haven't yet expressed our interest as we are now just making sure we have everything ready and won't be held up in the future, so we have a few questions. Which visa would be best? I was looking at a skilled independent visa, however I read elsewhere that it may be beneficial to apply for a state sponsored one at the same time? As a plasterer, it seems rendering would be the main job in Australia as they don't skim out there, this correct? I have rendering experience so that is not a problem but just curious. Also as a plasterer, I have no NVQ, but I don't mind obtaining one if it will help but as the date will be very recent will this cause problems? Or would it be better to try to get the Australian equivalent straight away? How many years of experience is needed? I have around 6 years in total I think, maybe slightly less, Is this going to be enough? Finally, and probably very important, if we were successful in our application and we obtained a visa for Australia, does the skills in which I applied for the visa have to be my sector of employment? I ask as I have plastering experience, however both being diving instructors and also being degree educated I would like to explore other options to maybe utilise my education, so does my visa effect where I can work? Thanks in advance Remi + Ksenia
