  1. Hey Everyone, I called up DIBP today to ask if a ceremony date has been allocated to me and they informed me that a tentative date of 7th June has been allocated, however my council (North Sydney) does not have a ceremony on that date so I asked about the same. They told me that special ceremonies are being scheduled all across Sydney to clear the back log and the letters would be sent out in the next month. Seems like the waiting game is going to be over soon!! Btw, I was approved in March.

    Cheers!

q3. me and my wife don't have birth certificate but kids have. so can i supply Marriage certificate or Indian National Identification card (Aadhar Card) its showing birth date

q4. and whats the other supporting documents we required. is any body have documents list?

    thanx

Great to see you as well, same timelines!!

I suppose your questions are already answered above by shriniwas.

In my case we created 2 applications - me and my wife (through our seperate IMMI Accounts) and added the kids to my application.

During the application process it gives you an option to link both the applications together and asks your preference to have the Citizenship ceremony together, if you choose so, council will ensure that both applicants even though on seperate applications are called together for the oath ceremony. Do note that linking applications together does not guarantee same date and time for the test Appointment, it's usually the same but can be different as well. In my case , my wife has a test appointment of March 17, whereas I have a test appointment of April 28 :(!!

    Best of luck, cheers

  3. Finally have a timeline to share!

    1. Date applied: January 22nd 2017

    2. City/Council area: City of Sydney

    3. Date of the acknowledgement email: January 22nd 2017 (automatic email)

    4. Date of the Citizenship Test invite email: February 6th 2017

    5. Date of the Citizenship Test: May 22nd 2017 (Sydney CBD)

    6. Date of ceremony: TBD

Working on bringing the date forward, spoke on the phone an hour ago (after waiting 3 hours for a callback) to a seriously grumpy lady who stated that the earliest appointments in Sydney CBD are at the beginning of May. She mentioned that there was no way of moving my appointment to the Parramatta office, even though I've seen people on here do exactly that. I'll start calling first thing in the morning instead...

Has anyone been successful recently with either a date change in the Sydney office, or being moved to Parramatta? Thank you!

I'm booked at the Sydney office as well for April 28th, have been calling everyday for the past 2 weeks to check for any cancellations, no luck!! They do politely tell me that I can continue to check!

One of the agents once told me that they had cancellation for the day I called on but they are not allowed to give those spots.

Key is to continue calling everyday I believe, unless you are in Melbourne, where you can reschedule online at https://appointments.border.gov.au/login

  4. Hi Shriniwas

I tried out this link but it doesn't allow me to proceed using my client id and last name. May I check which office did you choose for the test, probably they allow it only for limited locations as it's in beta currently?

    Thanks

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    R u from Melbourne?

My test location is in "2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne VIC 3000"

Make sure your client id is 11 digit and should be same as ur PR granted client Id.

    Sydney!

I called them and confirmed, the tool only works for Melbourne at the moment!!

  6. Thanks! So I assume "Application Received" in the immi account means it hasn't been allocated to a CO then?

That is correct, you can also call them and ask if your application is allocated or not (they will usually tell you if the email automated reply states that allocations are happening for the month when you lodged yours'

  7. Once your application is assigned to a CO, does it mean your PR could be granted today if all things go smoothly?

My understanding is within 7 days after allocation the app will be looked at by a CO and if everything is fine they are able to finalise it the same day when the CO looks at it, or they will call if they need further documents.

  8. Can anyone who has lodged their visa themselves explain in what way did you add the two passport photos with your name marked on the back? Did you just do two seperate uploads - one of the picture page and one of the back with your name marked on there? Confused.....

You don't need to upload photos for online applications.

  9. Hey all,

    Anyone had news today?

I spoke with Immi yesterday and they told me my file was being looked at by the 'team'. God knows how long that will take!

Apparently they don't do named CO anymore....

Still waiting on both Nom and Visa

    Good luck all!

    Hi Pome

You are right, applications are allocated to a team now and depending on the workload of the team any CO from the team will pick it up and assess it. The application remains with the same team but if they ask for more documents or something, every time a different CO may pick it up for assessment.

Typically once been allocated to a team, a CO will look at your application within 7 days of being allocated. If they need more documents, they will call you, if they want some other checks they will initiate those or best case scenario will finalise your application.

If you submitted everything upfront you should hear from them soon :))

    Cheers

  10. Would there be any specific reason? I work for a large employer that has sponsored a few people. It's very frustrating.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it means that immi is conducting an internal reference check with your employer in regards to your Nom application.

Seems this can refer to anything then, as my nomination was approved in March, and the visa application was just waiting for my new born baby to be added. The baby was added on July 2 to the application and one of the COs told me when I called that day that the application will now be processed in a week at the most, but when I called them last Friday to get a status update, the admin team told me that the application is waiting for some internal checks now - researched online and it seems these checks can take anywhere between a few days to a few months depending on what they are checking!! Waiting waiting and waiting, sigh!!

  11. At last!!! VISA has been approved :)My timeline for 457 to Ens 186 is as follows20/01/15 submitted all documents and Medicals via MA21/05/15 information requested for nomination (employer) and application22/05/15 information submitted to officer10/07/15 Visa approved!

Great Congrats!! Do you know where was it processed?

  12. Hi i had my ma.can i view that in my individual account?

You can ask your MA to share the application with your ImmiAccount (you need to provide your ImmiAccount user name to MA) or if you have the TRN, you can try importing (there is an import button when you login) the application to view it in your account

  13. Hello everyone. I have done medicals yesterday. How long will it be decided? Where to find it was completed?

    Hi

If you login to your ImmiAccount and open the application, after every person document listing there is an Health Requirements section, if the text in that section has change to - Health has been finalised for this person...it means that the medicals have been completed. Even if the text has not changed yet, but you have done your medicals - you can click the Organise your health link under the same section and print the referral letter again- this time the letter will show you which tests have already been completed and which ones are still being awaited (usually the blood tests are the last to come in, all the rest are completed the same day).

    Cheers

  14. Thanks csi,a lot for your help, yes my baby born in Australia and i have applied for her birth certificate and can you also please tell me that the email address of 457 department to add her first in 457 visa.

    Thanks again

Hey, I sent it to 457(at)IMMI.GOV.AU, which should now be changed to 457(at)BORDER.GOV.AU I suppose, given the transition from 1st of July, do let them know that you have a 186 PR application in process and provide both your original 457 TRN and 186 TRN as well.

    Cheers

  15. Hi csi,i have applied on 6th of May for my 186 visa and my wife was unable to do her medical because of pregnancy,Anyway my baby was born last week so can u please tell me that how did u add your baby into 186 visa ? Thank you.

    Hi

Is your baby born in Australia or overseas, there is a separate process for both cases. Bare minimum, you will need the birth certificate and the passport for the baby first, that's required in either of the cases, so get that at the earliest.

My baby was born in Australia so he can be added to the application free of charge, the process was:

    1. Get the baby added to the 457 medical insurance and get letter from insurance company (1 day)

    2. Get birth registration done and get the birth certificate (2 Weeks)

    3. Get a letter from employer confirming they have no objection to add the baby to my existing 457 visa and 186 visa application. (1 day)

    4. Send the 3 above together with the both parents' passports copies to 457 visa section to get the baby added to the existing 457 visa (passport is not needed for this step if the baby doesn't have to travel outside Australia before 186 application is processed, also the baby cannot be added to 186 visa application until he/she is added to existing 457 visa). (1 Week)

    5. Get the passport for the baby (3 Weeks)

    6. Once your baby is added to 457 visa and you receive the grant letter for that, send all of the above to PSE (186) section of the department along with filled in and signed form 1436 and the 457 grant letter.

    7. They will then add the baby to the 186 application and send you an eMedical consent form with baby's HAP ID. (3 days)

    8. Get a letter from the local GP certifying that baby is in good health (1 day)

    9. Send the signed eMedical consent form and the doctor letter along with the birth certificate to BUPA Visa service email address given on their site, so that they can do an on the papers medical. (2 Days)

    10. Once you get the reply confirming medical completion from BUPA, intimate the PSE section of the department so they know your application is now complete.

It took me around 4 weeks after the baby was born to complete all of the above with most of the time taken by the birth certificate and passport. Of course your wife needs to complete her medical as well which can be done anytime along the way after the birth.

    Cheers

  16. That's good. Did you have medical issues? Hope everything gets sorted.

My wife was 6 months Pregnant when our application was allocated in March, and we didn't want to go through an X-ray. But as we are from a high risk country the x-Ray could not be waived even in case of pregnancy so we had to wait until the baby is born and added to the visa application.
