  1. My PR came through today!

    Nom & Visa 5th July.

I'll update with full info later!

    I'm so relieved!

Nomination & Visa 5th July, 1 person, LR, ICT Tech, Transition, No Documents requested.

On a side note, another employee with a completely different job title got her PR today as well. So I imagine job title has less significance than we thought.

  2. The irony is that I could also go through De facto with my Australian partner but I want to earn my visa because I am hard working not because of my relationship status.

Same for me. Had I known this whole process was going to take so long I'd have gone defacto. I would have had PR long ago!

200 days for me today. I never thought it was going to take this long

  3. Hi Lee, they did charge 1500 for the complete partner visa application. I checked their website and they still offer partner visa for 1500.

A friend of mine is just doing a 190 with them and they charge him 4,500 fixed fee for skills assessment, state sponsorship, EOI and visa under a "no win no fee agreement" or so.

Why did you have to pay so much for a 186?

The application is $4500, plus agent fees, medical, police checks etc.

  4. Got a question for you guys..

My migration agent didn't get us to sign a declaration to declare that they have been appointed by us. What impact will this have on the application?

Found out today as there is no TRN number after we requested it from the agent. So basically no one can see anything on a immigration account.

    Advice please

Ask your MA to get it done and uploaded.

The TRN number is supplied to your MA in the bridging visa.

  5. I did similar a few years ago.

I live in Australia on a 457. I got a new passport and it took so long to arrive I got it 2 days before I went back to the uk.

I called immigration and asked them to transfer the visa to my new passport, but they said it would take too long and to take both passports to the airport, and I'd be pulled over at passport control, but they would do the transfer there.

Sure enough, I did this, got pulled aside and after I explained they happily did the transfer and let me through.

  6. I think you can only get your medical done post application as you need a referral letter for each person that is part of you application. I did mine shortly after submitting the application.

You can do it before your submit the application. I did. I would get it done before, or immediately after. There's no reason not to, unless you think the process is going to take more than a year.

If you wait until they ask for you to do it you'll only delay the process.

  7. Hi leethompson,

I had similar problems and contacted the Australian Migration Agent and Immigration Lawyer Association. They took care of my partner visa application including the bridging visa application, can recommend to get in contact with them.

    Good luck.

    Hi Frank,

    Did they charge?

If I had to do a partner visa, I would do it myself. I've already shelled out about 6 grand on my 186 application.

    Thank you though.

  8. Also, im asked what assessments i want

my MA only asked me to do the first 3, but I'm not sure if it differs for any reason.

  9. Hi, moving to Sydney around March/April, have a 9 year old daughter.

    1) what school year will she join, she is half way through year 5 in UK right now?

    2) will it be easy enough for her to start school in March/April?

Also have a 3 year old son, born in March, understand that he would not start school until he is 5 years old?

    Thanks in advance!

    Michael.

    1. It depends when her birthday is. The school year runs January to December.

    2. I don't see why not? It's not going to be the start of the school year, but you can join at any time.

    Isn't kindergarten 4-5 year olds?

  10. very jammy then... I suppose someone has to be!

I had some emotional attachment to the 6 month mark too. My MA regularly referenced a 6 months processing time up front but started talking about things taking longer around November (my visa nom was 21 June) although I'm a Direct Entry applicant and I'm pretty sure these are taking a little longer to process.

Yes I definitely think that MAs are saying 6 months, the immi website says 6 months, and when I applied, 6 months seemed to be the average. It only took my 2 friends 4 months. I understand it's more like 8 now, but it's SO frustrating not knowing when it's going to happen.

  11. My Ma stated they are processing feb to June , she feels my file should be opened by end week of Jan or first week of feb and Direct Entry Visa for Managerial roles and ICT ARE taking more time than processing it seems.

    lets hope the best.

    nom&Visa- 14July2016, HR, Customer Service Manager.Transition

There are 2-3 people in May win ICT roles who got their visas in around 190 days.

  12. The shared spreadsheet indicates that the processing times for applications made between Jan 2016 and June 2016 has been running at about 8 months. Almost there!

Is your application Transition or Direct Entry?

Oh I know. I just hoped.

There are people with the same job role and from HR countries with extra people on their visas who have had theirs in around 190 days. I'm on 184 days.

I'm transition, 1 person, and LR.

  13. If you apply onshore before your 457 expires, you'd be granted a bridging visa with full work rights while your new application is processed. If you are waiting for a 189, you would already have a bridging visa. However, as far as I know, if you have had an onshore visa refusal (e.g. your 189), then you may not be able to apply for another visa while in Australia. So you may need to speak with a migration agent if that happened.

Sorry not 189, 186. I don't think the visa will be refused, but I'm cautious about the nomination not being approved. I have a bridging visa, but it doesn't come into effect until early March (when my 457 expires). So hopefully my PR will come through by then, or the nomination may fail by then. If the nomination failed, I assume the bridging visa would also become void, and at that point it would be good/possible to go for a partner visa instead?

    Thanks for your advice.

  14. Sorry for hijacking your thread Kezzles but I wanted to ask a similar question.

Im currently waiting on my 457 transition to 189 to come through. I wondered if for whatever reason it failed, my 457 ends in early march. Would I be better off just not getting the company to renew it and going for a partner visa? What's the situation with work rights after ending a 457 and applying for a partner visa instead?

  15. According to spreadsheet someone got pr on 31/12/2016. Is this possible immigration work on this date his timeline is nom 26/06/2016 visa 26/07/2016. What you think is this true? If yes this is great thay already on last week of june

Doubtful, but possible. It was a Saturday so someone could have been doing overtime. Only they can answer really.
