  1. All our goods arrived today from Uk shared container, left uk 20th December, 21st Jan arrived in Oz, 2 weeks to get through customs and up to Cairns. The company we used was Bournes removals, they packed in Uk for us, and everything has arrived very well packed and protected, not a scratch mark or single breakage on any item. Would definitely use them again, service has been excellent from the initial call.
  2. I flew my dog from Thailand to Uk, was really concerned too. However on picking her up she was fine, excited to see us and happy to jump back in the crate when asked. Worst part no one tells you about is jet lag for dogs, getting woke up at 2 am by a dog wanting walks and breakfast is fun.Took about a month before she adjusted to new time zone. Also be aware of new allergens she hasn't been exposed to particularly grass seeds etc, to start with wash her paws after a walk until her body adjusts. If you can arrange it get a t-shirt towel or something similar, with the scent of who has been looking after her in the crate.Don't worry about the flight so much, the flight manifest is really strict regarding temperature, placement of crate etc. As for quarantine, I'm told although it's not the palace we create for our dogs, they are well cared for.10 days will soon go quickly, then you can have your mate with you and get her used to new surroundings. My own dog is now in UK, as she failed Enchila test, but fingers crossed she will be with us in Cairns come the new year.
  3. A year ago it all seemed so far off, now less than a week we are off to Sydney then Cairns. Shipping company arrive tomorrow, then visit the folks and we are away. Our dog who we flew from Thailand ( lived there before 14 years) isn't coming just yet, despite getting her into UK fairly easily, to get the required papers for oz we fell over on the Ehrlichia canis test. Unfortunately the test for OZ is based on antibodies not positive infection test.We of course panicked and feared the worse. months later and with help from the vets we are getting positive results back.Initial test showed 5250 positive( needs 40 or below to pass) we have dropped it to 1250 now, and it's still falling. So hopefully we will get the results we need by the new year. then Rat dog will be with us in oz. In the meantime we have been very lucky as a family member has stepped up to look after her, until it drops. If it doesn't time for plan b Fingers crossed
