Just to let you know that my and my family's visa has just been granted!

I applied on Jul 27th and the grant letter received on Nov 10th.

I think they usually ask you to pay for your spouse's functional english ability only if you are going to be given the grant pretty soon.

A friend was asked to do the same and instead of paying he got his wife to take the IELTS and uploaded the results on a Friday and they got their grant on Monday. So I think you need not worry. It's great that someone is working on your case.

  I was requested by my case officer to make the VAC 2 payment as my wife (secondary applicant) does not have functional English as per DIBP. As per the DIBP website second installment if applicable needs to be paid before the Visa can be granted.
   
  So does this means I have a PR for me and her on the way? and is it a kind of pre confirmation? or there can be a rejection at this stage too.

Yep lodged 28th July and didn't do medicals til 12th august. Can't believe its come through already, thought it would be at least another couple of weeks!!

Anyway looking at your timeline its gotta happen soon for you, we only applied a few days apart.

Let's really hope it'll not take long.

I'm going to Sydney in Nov. 28th and will stay there until Dec.31.

The idea is to know a little about the city, do what can be done to initiate all necessary documents (TFN, MediCare, Bank Account, etc) and come back to Brazil, do all final arrangements, quit my job and go to Sydney to look for a job.

Only after all this my wife and babies will go to Oz.

Curiosity: my flight from London Heathrow to Sydney will be on a Qantas A380! So excited! Hahaha
