So I'm a massive numpty. We made the decision to move to Cairns last August after a year of deliberation to be closer to my husband's family. During our research into emigrating I found this thread but didn't notice that 1) it was from 2009 and 2) there were over 1000 pages! So took the '3-4 months' from the front page as our expected processing time. My goodness the shock at the 10-14 months! We also didn't realise the price hike for 2015 :-s Thinking we had loads of time to get to Cairns for my husband to start work in October we took our time with the application. Having renewed Nick's passport and received our son's citizenship by decent certificate we aimed to get my application in by the end of January. Then we got the horrible news at the start of Jan that my beloved father-in-law had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and it extremely unlike to live out the year (or even to Easter in the worse case!). Nothing like news like that to focus the brain on visa forms! So my application went in on Jan 21st and the money was taken on Jan 30th and now I'm taring my hair out at hearing nothing more! Everyone who got their application in by Dec 31st seems to have heard from their CO but we've heard nothing. We've requested exspediation on compassionate grounds complete with medical reports detailing Dad's condition but have no idea if that's enough (the website only seems to say what won't be considered for exspediation. Incidentally, the London website is so unhelpful! I used the FAQs on the Berlin one while doing the form, so many more, clearer details given). I'm getting so stressed though and feel like such an idiot (though my six month bump and the pregnancy hormones don't help with that!). I guess this whole thing is stressful anyway without the addition emotional strain I'm under. Anyway, just needed to spurge. I find that a lot of my friends are so sad about us leaving that they don't want to talk about it! Nice to talk to people in the same situation :-)
Hi Becsidaisy, Sounds like an awful and very stressful situation for you. Patience is the key, a lot of people don't hear from their CO's until about 5 or 6 weeks so Im sure yours will be any day now. I know that doesn't help when you are wanting to go out.
Would you be able to go over on a 3 month holiday visa to be able to see your father in law? You are able to use other visas while you are waiting for the partner visa to be granted but you must let them know that you are applying for another visa so it doesn't cancel your other visa. If you are pregnant though make sure to check with airline if you plan to fly as I saw someone the other day say that a lot of airlines refuse anyone who is more than 5 months pregnant.
I hope that they get back to you soon and that they can make an allowance for you

Just got 309 visa through at 9 months 3 days :jiggy:Thanks for all the support on here, you have all helped keep me sane through the whole period! x

Have ve you or bigboi sent an email yet? Really not right that you haven't had your confirmation. My 9 months is up on Friday and my co only works Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So I'm hoping to hear by Wednesday. It said 8-9 months so that's what it should be not a day over!! If I have heard by Friday im going to email. Not sure how to word it without being like WTF! Haha
Bigboy01 got his last week so I think Im the last May 27th one on here to hear anything. I emailed on Thursday evening last week but not heard anything back. Yeah I had no idea what to put so was just like 'as I have reached my 9 month mark I wanted to check that everything with my application was ok'. They have probably put me at the back of the queue for bothering them now! Im having to stop myself from bombarding them with more! Hopefully you hear this week I may explode though if people after me start getting theirs through!!

9 months 3 days and going crazy :arghh: Day off work today which means obsessive email checking.
I hope that all of yours take closer to the 10 month mark, I thought 9 months was/is bad enough can't imagine what 14 months would be like.
£390 is an amazing deal. who is that flying with? Im loving that prices are so good at the moment.

Just over 2 hours of work hours left today and still no visa. I have a feeling its going to be after the 9 month mark for me.

Any news yet?
I am flying out to Sydney on the 15/03/15 my work have been so accommodating and allowed me to leave almost 2 weeks early.
Thats brilliant. Not long till you are both reunited
Still nothing for me. I think I will email them and hope for the best. Does anyone know if the COs are based in Australia or England or both?....basically Im clutching at straws and hoping it will appear in my inbox over night! The email address I had for my CO has .au in it so that suggests Australia but I know others have previously said they are in London.

Notice handed in, now just waiting on permission from my company for me to leave early.
Have you sent an email to your case officer yet Sophielouise. It will come though soon
how exciting, when are you planning on going to Oz? I have already handed my notice in as I got a bit excited the other week!!
I emailed last week when I had problems with my IMMI account and someone else responded to the email. I will email again on Friday if I haven't heard. I think this week is going extra slow now I know others who applied on same day have got theirs!

Any news for the 27th of may applicants?
Still no visa

Any news today from anyone? I can tell this is going to be a long week. Checked my emails so much today!
-
Hi everyone, where do you change the information at the bottom of posts so people know when I applied etc.
cheers
Hiya, you go to 'settings' on the top of this page and then on the left hand side there is an 'edit signature' button.

Have any of the may 27ths heard anything?
Nothing yet have you heard anything?
-
Thats great news PhoebeM. Same day as me too. I emailed my CO yesterday about the problem on IMMI website hoping it might push things through but no response and no Visa.
-
You've applied the same day as us! There are other May people! We applied through a migrant agent so I've never actually looked at my IMMI account. Have you got your C/O's email? We're only a week off so it might be a good excuse for a 'nudge'?
:cute:
Not long for us then hopefully. Will be interesting to see if they come through close to each other. That is a good plan to give them a little nudge, I was gonna wait till the 9 month mark but this could be good reason to do it early! I haven't got their direct email so if anyone has KP's email address could you please PM me with it, thanks!

Hiya, is anyone having any problems signing in to their immiaccount? I put my username and password in and it says successful login with a screen with information on it when I then click next it comes up with a bright red fatal error message and says it cannot open the current page. So I can't actually see my application at the moment. Its been like this for a few days and Im starting to panic it will have cancelled my whole application! x
-
Hiya, not written on here for ages. Tomorrow is 8 months for me so let obsessive email checking commence! good to see lots of people are getting their grants through, it definitely gives hope to the rest of us x

Hi Bigboy01,
I didn't frontload mine but a couple of weeks after applying the bit online for the medical requirements changed to saying I would need some, so thats when I organised them. I hadn't heard from a case officer at that point. I then heard from C/O on 23/06/14 saying she had seen I'd done the medical checks (don't know if I was really meant to have done them before this) and I now needed to do the police checks no sooner than 27/06/14. Have you done yours yet?
Yep looks like Feb if it stays the same timeframe as these others. It seems so far away! At this point Im still being optimistic/in denial and hoping they speed up, but I know thats very unlikely!

Hiya, congratulations Wozziegirl and Thetipper, thats great news for you . Im new to commenting in this forum but have found the posts very useful through the application process so thought I would share my dates so far. I applied for my partner visa online on 27/05/14. Health checks were done on 14/06/14. C/O (KP) assigned on 23/06/14 and police checks were sent on 29/06/14. So I'm just over the 3 month mark so from reading your posts I still have quite a wait on my hands but its great to hear some are being granted!

Thanks, I'll fly to Perth in about 2 or 3 weeks. Need to arrange good bye visits with everyone now before I leave.
