I just got my visa! Turns out there were some technical probs, so the authorisation letter hadn't been emailed across to the migration agent. They chased it up and now i'm free to start work next week. It's such a relief! Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the above. My employers are a big media company and have sponsored before. I actually checked online today and the status of my application says 'finalised' with a date almost a month ago. Yet the migration agents who will receive the visa grant notice haven't contacted me. Hoping it's not bad news!

Also, does anyone know the wording used at each stage online as the application status progresses? Thanks!

Hi guys, I was just wondering whether any of you lodged your 457 applications in July and if you'd had any progress yet? Mine was lodged onshore on the 15th July, via a migration agent acting on behalf of my new employers. I know it's only been six weeks, but i'm beginning to worry how long it will take. Primarily because I'm currently on a tourist visa, so can't work!
