Thanks so much both of you for your helpful info, I am already receiving the Australian pension so things look good, I wasn't aware of the change from 25 to 35 years to qualify for the pension though, when did that occur? Regarding the Banking I will chase up the HSBC to find out if an account can still be opened from here. Thanks again Maleric

Hi everybody After living in Oz for the last 30 years I have decided to return to the UK, I have a property which when sold will cover the cost of re-buying in the Midlands or North of England so I won't be renting. I have a part pension from the UK and qualify for the Australian pension but am wondering if that will suffice. Also, is there any way to set up a bank account in the UK prior to moving there? Any other tips would also be welcome. thanks in anticipation Maleric :wink:
