  1. Pickfords are coming to pick up my toolbox at the end of the week. Are you allowed to take hammers with wooden handles or do they have to be checked over by customs. How far does this no wood rule go??
  2. How did you get in with the move cube? I have a width and a half top box and roll cab full of tools to go. How meticulous where you with cleaning your tools? Have spent days doing mine, but even so they still look grubby! What size tool box did you take? Cheers
  3. Hi guys, so I'm hoping to be starting my new job in Perth January/February. I need to ship my toolbox out there from Pembrokeshire in Wales. Top chest and roll cab in total are approx 5'4" in height and 43" wide, 20" deep. Unsure of weight as i have no way to weigh it, maybe 500-750kg. Can anyone advise me on shipping such an item? Unsure of total value but it would be £7000-£10,000 approx. Also I'm an contemplating shipping my Triumph street triple out there as well. Bike weighs about 250kg. What other factors are there to consider after shipping a bike to OZ, such as registration and other legal stuff? Any help much appreciated!!!
  4. Sorry for all the questions! What is the number of the next visa? Does this tend to be the less troublesome route to permanent residency?
  5. What tends to happen after working for the employer for 2 years on a 457 then? Do you lodge a visa application under the employers sponsorship?? Assuming they are willing.
  6. Hi guys I'm sure this question has been answered many times but I'm after some black and white advice if that's possible?? I am looking to get a 457 visa and work for an agricultural dealership as a mechanic. How would this lead to permanent residency or does it not? I was led to believe that if you work for an employer on a 457 visa for 2+ years then it would easy to transition to permanent residency. What is the process to becoming a permanent resident if you were to work for an employer on a 457? Thanks!!!
  7. Yeh about an hour is what I got from Google maps. What are the roads like to Northam?
  8. Hello everyone this is my first post on the forum! I am looking to migrate to Australia. I am a 26 year old single male. I am looking to migrate using a sponsorship visa as I'm a qualified agricultural technician/mechanic. I have been talking to an employment agency about an opportunity coming up in Northam WA, with an agricultural machinery dealership. I have been researching the area and the town seems very small/quiet (not where I'd like to live). Ideally I would like to live near/in a city for a good social life as I'm young and single. Would it be feasible to commute to Northam from Perth daily or is the distance too great in your opinion? I have been looking at other agricultural dealerships in the Brisbane and Melbourne areas and none of them seem to be close to the city, but this is understandable due to the nature of the industry. The more I read about Perth the more it appeals to me! Can anyone recommend any areas in the east of Perth that would suit? Any help would be much appreciated as I am getting more confused by the day :arghh: Thanks, Gethin
