  1. Matt19811981;1936625766]Good morning one and all,

I am new to this forum but have been reading it for the last 6 months or so as i have applied for a subclass 309 visa. I applied on the 19th feb, all medicals done, police checks done, no probs with application and just waiting. We are now in our 9th month and am hoping that my visa is here soon so me and my partner can fly out by the end of the year. I suppose my question is 2 fold, one, has anyone else applied around this time and got their visa? our case officer is DP? secondly, some people have mentioned that they sent an email to their CO and this helped speed up the process, how did you email them? via the website? or replying to the email they originally send?

    Look forward to your responses...

    Hi Matt!!

Coxy1804 and I both applied on February 10th, we are still waiting for our grants.

My CO Is DP also, we emailed him around a month ago by replying to one of the emsils he had sent us and recieved a reply 2 days later. You can try emailing him for an update, my OH and I are trying not too as he pretty much gave us the go ahead to book flights for december 1st so we are just trying to be patient, whilst checking his email 10 times a day lol!!

Fingers crossed we all get some good news this week!!

    Hi all,

I'm happy to finally be at the 8 month mark, Not long now for the February applications.

  2. Congratz to all people granted....DownUndergirl what type of tickets are those? Are they very dear? 6 months 3 weeks and 4 days since I applied and counting.....

    Hi Grabri,

We practically have the same dates. I also have flights booked that I can cancel a day before if my visa hasn't been granted. I booked them through STA Travel, they were reasonably priced as I had looked elsewhere. I fly out just after the 9 month mark at the end of November.

  3. Don't contact your CO to enquire after your medical. Its really not necessary. If the panel doc said all was well, just go with that. Your CO will contact you if they need to. If your medical is referred it is still dealt with within the timeframe of your visa application. The fact its not showing up for you atm does not mean there will be a delay or anything is being held up. Its a fair few months till you are close to grant time so just let them get on with things as they need to and don't worry about it :)

As Snifter said, don't worry. I was told the same by my doctor and it was literally just that my immi account hadn't been updated. As it's the last step before being granted I know you just want to make sure everything is ok. Patience is definitely a virtue that i've had to learn.

  4. I know what you mean, the hardest part is not being able to actively look for jobs as I have no exact time frame but it's so near to Christmas I think spending a little of the savings on enjoying our first months back in Oz will be the the way forward.

Coxy I don't envy anybody given that time frame, plus we thought 9 months was a long wait. 9 months doesn't make the mind think that, thats almost a year but 14 months seems like a lifetime.

Remember you get different CO's which means, one CO could be on holiday, another may be really busy etc so there are lots of variables.

  5. Tj and jen when did you do your meds and police checks? Does anyone think it goes by date completed everything or order of first sent? Also hoping to see approvals posted soon there was alot a few weeks ago but seems to have gone quite. From the looks for things on forums they ars up to beginning of December.

Hi Coxy, it only goes by the date it was first processed. As long as meds and police certificates were sent in within the required time frame it would make no difference. Also it seems there isn't an exact order to it as people who apply on the same day fully loaded may be granted weeks apart. The only thing I have noticed is that a complete visa with no setbacks seems to rarely go over the time frame given by your CO.

  6. Hi Jen, I'm at 6 months and a week too. The immi account will say approved for the Australian Visa holder and processing for the migrant until they're approved. Hopefully we're closer to the 8 month mark but from the looks of the people getting accepted it's nearer to the 9 month mark. Plus I've read that only 75% of visa's are approved within the given timeframe, which is another worry as I was looking to fly out at the end of November. All we can do is wait, which sucks ;)

  7. Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my details.

I'm TJ, my case officer is RN, I have been with my partner 2 years and we have applied for visa subclass 309 offshore online on 21/02/2014

Our Case Officer was assigned on 26/03/2014.

Our medical and police checks were requested after the 26/06/2014 we submitted all on the 01/07/2014.

Now the wait begins . . . We're looking to be back in Australia by the 26/11/2014.

  8. Hi Snifter,

Thanks for the reply. I was informed at my medical that my CO would confirm my medical check had passed and that was the main reason I needed the confirmation. I have actually just been contacted and informed that I will no longer be dealt with by my CO until my visa is granted. This is due to new modifed process changes (that changed in May 2014) within the department of immigration and border protection. I was also informed that my medical checks are all ok and complete, so now I'm happy to wait.

Thanks for the thread link and I have decided to follow the tourist visa route as and when I need to.

  9. Hi, I'm new here. My names Tony and I just wanted to log my progress and follow up on any other applicants' processing times.

I lodged my 309 Partner Visa on 21st February 2014 online, our CO contacted us in March, all documentation was completed in May, Medical and Police checks were completed at the end of June.

I always like a bit of wishful thinking and have flights booked (but can be changed) in November (81/2 months after lodging my visa).

I'd love to hear about other applicants around this date.

On another note, I recently emailed my case officer for confirmation of my medical checks and I obviously asked for an approximate time frame for my visa to be granted but I didn't get a reply from my case officer, instead I got a reply from a guy named Luis who informed me that if all documentaton is submitted then I should just wait. I thought I had my case officer until my visa is granted and i have purposefully only emailed her twice as to not be annoying. I'm a little annoyed that because I've been a bit more of an "easy customer" that she can't even be bothered to reply to me.
