  1. I've had a little look and it says ; So I'd say the fact I have the degree MAY be enough to be skills assessed although it is down to the circumstances given the last sentence.
  2. Unfortunately I don't have an employer..... wouldn't know where to start apart from just contacting the radio stations etc. I do believe i'd pass the skills assessment ; actually presenting live radio was a big part of my course and it's something I've been doing on a voluntary basis for a few years now.
  3. I graduated with an honours degree in Broadcast Production and for 2 years worked as a Radio Presenter on a voluntary basis. I've been in touch with a few agents ; one who told me the best route would be to retrain, another who wanted £600 to join a work list with the view to getting me permanent (sounded too good to be true) , and another who said WHV but no harm in pursuing the radio Presenter option if it had to arise. My friends are based in a regional postcode so it would ideally be this regional area I'd prefer to go if I were to get any success out of this. I've had a look at https://www.acacia-au.com/rsmsol.php where Radio Presenter falls under ; but I believe it's all to do with State Sponsorship etc? The light is being shone a bit better but I still don't feel fully educated ; I feel this could just be a dead end and my only option is the WHV which is good don't get me wrong, but I'd need to say goodbye at the end of it!
  4. Well the good thing about this is the place where my friends stay falls under one of the regional areas It's just getting a job in place that's gonna be the tough part!
  5. that's me spoke with my close friends and family and they all agree it's something I should jump at the chance for. im going for it!! only downside is my friends over there don't live in one of the major cities so finding work will be tougher! Aiming for a 2016 arrival
  6. Yeah im all booked up for May. there is always plenty of overtime at work so when I get back I can just absolutely power it with the view to go over the following year
  7. That would be great ! Yeah really close, I work up Lanark way right enough ; work up in Carluke
  8. Yeah, that fact I've been helps Yeah, ideally aiming for about September next year which seems realistic I'm from Motherwell, just outside of Glasgow
  9. Well I am going back over in May for 6 weeks to visit the friends I have over there so the plan would be to get back and then start saving like mad to get to where I need to be financially! It's a terrifying prospect don't get me wrong but an exciting one at that.
  10. Yup, I do qualify for the WHV....Only 23!
  11. At this stage though I was thinking of the working holiday option..... it at least gives me a year out there!
  12. It's nothing that would help unfortunately ; just a retail assistant. I've an honours degree in broadcasting but that won't help either
  13. I'm seriously considering it! I've some friends who live over there and during my time over last year I absolutely loved it! I'd love to spend alot more time there ; to work and who knows, with a view to hopefully living over there forever. The last part might be a bit of an ambitious plan but I just love the country.... it's getting the guts to just go for it!

    Best time to go?

I was in Albury last May for a month and absolutely loved it so planning on going back next year at some point. Thing is I can't work out when is the best time to go! i have friends over there so accommodation is not an issue ; when is the best time to go both price wise and weather wise? While May was a bit wet it did have its warm spells and there was still plenty to do and see! id be flying from Glasgow too if that would make a difference to your advice? thanks so much in advance
  16. Absolutely fantastic news! all the very best

    CSOL List?

Just chasing this up again. What would be the first steps I could do if I were to purse this route even if the chances are somewhat slim?

    CSOL List?

Yeah I'm currently doing hospital radio and done weekly shows on the student radio station at my university for two years too! I just seen it on the list and thought it would ask

    CSOL List?

OK guys, I've came across the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List and a career I could very well fall under (never had a job in it although I am fully qualified with an Honours degree) is included in the list - Radio Presenter! . I'm pretty confused by what it could mean etc. Could anyone help shine the light a little better for me?

    Hi there :)

It's an honours Degree in Broadcasting mainly specialising in Radio Production. It was a degree that could have been spun onto specialist Media Studies teaching but I decided not to go down that route Going to have a nosey at the whv stuff just now

    Hi there :)

Hello ! I think the WHV would be the best option atm as I don't think my current job nor my degree are something which would actually get me anywhere unfortunately which is a shame! Completely clueless atm
