  1. Hi Im currently in the early stages of applying for a 190 visa and I'm debating South Australia or NSW. I have just applied to vetassess and so im awaiting confirmation of skills recognition / practical assessment. In the UK im a fully certified plumber both NVQ level 2 and 3, domestic and commercial gas and have been in the industry for 15 years. My role over the last several years has been a burner and boiler engineer carrying out repairs and maintenance this is domestic, commercial and industrial but does also involve plumbing. Can someone please confirm if there are opportunities for myself once emigrated and which state. I know i will have to do gap training once in aus and employers want state / regional experience before given a job. Thanks Bri
  2. Thanks, wages sound good. I here the cost of living is higher in aus? Do the wages still work out better than the uk? Also is it a 40 hour week? You said plumbing is different out here in what way? Is it just different regulations, test procedures etc
  3. Thats good news i thought it was going to cost thousands on licensing. If you dont mind me asking whats a typical hourly rate for a plumber / gas fitter I keep seeing jobs advertised around 35 dollars an hour?
  4. Cheers for the info. How did you get your UK qualifications recognised did you have to go to TAFE college?
  5. Thats great thanks alot. Do you have to pay school fees in Sydney as we've got a 6 year old? Also was £10000 just for yourself or a family. Did you apply for for your visa with the marsa if so would you recommend this? Did you have a job organised prior to moving to Sydney? Sorry about all the questions Thanks
  6. Thanks for the information Its made things alot clearer. I think PR will probably be the best option for me.
  7. Thanks alot for the information. I cannot come over on a whv as I have a child which is a frustrating part of the whv. Im coming over on holiday to Melbourne in December. Can you keep me informed if there are any jobs come up with your company. Also which area are you in? Thanks
  8. Thanks alot for the advice ill look into it. I think the 189 would be my best option.
  9. Sorry forgot to say I thought the 457 was the best pathway.
  10. Hi Thanks for the reply. Can you please advise me of the skilled migrant visa as im unsure of the requirements. Thanks Brian
