  1. Julie,

I would like to know once you were contacted by the CO, other than the docs requested from the parents, what type of documents were requested from your son/daughter who is the sponsor. eg, pay slips, bank statements etc....??

    cheers

Hi ,My recollection of the AOS procedure is that our daughter ,the sponser, had to submit evidence of earnings etc to Centrelink in order for them to approve the application. Centrelink then informed Immi that the application had been approved and that the Bond had been deposited with the Commonwealth Bank

    Hope this helps

  2. Advice needed please. We applied for cpv143 June 13 and submitted form 80, then meds and police checks as requested. January 8th 2015 we were contacted and asked to sort aos and resubmit biometric pages of our passports, this was done by Feb 6th and since then we have heard nothing! Is there an agent who is able to offer any advice?

    Hi

When you say you applied for 143 June 13, do you mean June 2013 ? or June 13, if so which year 2013 or 2014 ?

I suspect it was June 13 2013 in which case you applied exactly the date we applied so the communication on 8th January would be the CO assignment and they are asking for outstanding documentation and when that is received they will make their assessment and if everything is in order they will request the 2nd VAC

When did your sponsor submit the AOS application, was it only after immi requested it ? If so ,I have heard that,in some states, Centrelink who notify immi when the AOS is in place, sometimes drag their feet a little

I would suggest that your sponsor contact the Centrelink office where she/he submitted the application and inquire about it's progress. They may not as yet, have informed immi , which may be the hold up

    Hope this helps

    cheers Barry

  3. Thank you Barry - can I ask if you payed with a bankers draft? I'm a bit confused with all this?

    maisie

    Hi Maisie

We already had an account in OZ with enough funds for the 2nd vac and our plan was to transfer funds online to our daughter's account who would then go into her own bank and request a bank cheque (in UK we call it a bankers draft) payable to DIBP and send by post to Perth immi

We were, as it happens' in OZ when we were assigned a CO so we knew that the 2nd vac request was imminent so we organised the bank cheque ourselves and left it with our daughter to send to immi when it was requested . We bank with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and they charged just A$10 to provide the cheque

One can pay by credit card but that attracts up to approx. a 3% surcharge or you could pay by credit card in GB pounds through the Australian High Commission in London but the exchange rate is set every 6 months and it could work to your disadvantage

    hope this clarifies

    cheers Barry

  4. Another question for all those that have made it past the post please.

How did you pay your final VAC. Did you already have the money in an Aussie account or did you transfer it from a UK account via a foreign exchange company straight to IMMI?

    Thanx

    maisie

    Hi

We paid our 2nd VAC last month and the was no option to pay by electronic transfer so therefore you cannot instruct the foreign exchange company to pay on your behalf by that method

    Barry

  5. Hi all, just had it confirmed, The sponsor " our daughter " has to be in the country for min 2 years, our sons move is purely putting us "in balance"

Wouldn't it be great if the UK had such rules !

Hi, That was my understanding of the situation and was just checking on the OZ government website when your message came in

    Good luck

    Barry

  6. I submitted my 143 visa in December 2013 Does anyone know the waiting period before I am assigned a case officer and also once assigned how long does it take for a decision when the visa is granted. Then how long do I have before I need to get over there? I have balance of family and meet all the criteria. I have already got my police check and medical. I have just read that the time has increased from 18 months to 22/ 24 months waiting.

    many thanks

    Hi Sylvia

My post on page 483 may be of help

    Cheers

  7. Hi everyone

whoopee, received our visa 143 grant letter today

    Time line:

14 June 2013 Application lodged with Perth immi

    28 June 2013 1st vac (A$2060) taken by creditcard

7 th September 2013 Acknowledgement received with dates to complete UK police checks and Medicals and to complete form 80 immediately

18 September 2013 Sent scanned copies of Form 80 to Perth immi

15 March 2014 Requested HAP(health assessment portal) Id numbers

20 March 2014 Received HAP Id numbers from Perth immi

15 May 2014 Received UK police check certificates @£45 each

    26 June 2014 Completed Medicals @£270 each

Late June 2014 Daughter completed AOS application

16 July 2014 AOS approved and A$14000 paid

8 January 2015 CO assigned (whilst in OZ)with request for scanned copies UK police check certificate and were asked to apply for Australia Federal Police clearance certificates because we had spent more than 365 days in OZ in the last 10 years (actually spent 368 days in Oz but they wouldn't waive it for the sake of 3 days) They also asked for passport bio data scans, which we knew we had sent ,our marriage certificate, which they couldn't trace as having received and the Forms 80 scans

10 January 2015 Perth immi said they had found evidence of receiving forms 80 but couldn't locate them (they had not been placed on file)and had found the passport

bio data scans - fortunately email and forms attachments were on our files so just sent again

13 January 2015 Back in UK - Set about applying for AFP clearance certificates online and sent scan of the "missing" marriage certificate

27 January 2015 AFP certs scanned and sent to Perth immi

10 February 2015 Request for 2nd VAC , A$84440, and sent by daughter on 12th

    16 February 2015 Visas 143 granted

The visa grant letter sets out the date by which one must complete your initial entry into OZ and we were quoted 14 August 2015 but based on the fact that our UK police check certificate was dated 15 May 2014 we expected the latest date to make our intitial entry would be 15 May 2015

Does anyone know if the rules have been changed recently ?

We have sent an email to Perth immi to clarify this point

It seems that the days of sending certified copies of documents is over and they now will accept scans - so master this skill

Good luck to all those patiently waiting

    Cheers

    Veronique and Bazza

Good luck to everyone still waiting for things to happen

re initial entry date in above post

Reply from Perth immi - Quote "The initial entry date was extended by 3 months as per our policy to allow for more time for you to make an initial entry into Australia on your new visa"

One learns a little more each day of the workings of the Immigration service

    cheers

  9. Thanks Barry, assumed it was a typo! That means they shouldn't be too long then hopefully!

    Hi

Got 2013 on the brain at the moment Our 143 was lodged 13 June 2013 and if we follow the timeline of Carob (who posted earlier today) we should receive our CO assignment within a day or so

    Cheers

  10. June 2013? So they are taking 18 months to process the 173 to 143 visas now? I think they were under the impression it was 8 months or something...

Yes you're right, the did apply a bit later (just checked my emails), end of June 2014 their application went in and the AOS and police checks were requested in August 2014 and completed in September 2014.

Hi you're dead right, should be 2014

Must have had a senior momemt

  11. Hi everyone,

Wondered if anyone had got a 173 to 143 recently? Parents lodged their 143 back in April time I think, lodged the AOS back in October last year and haven't heard anything since. I thought once they'd requested the AOS and got that it would go through pretty quickly then - but has been very quiet!

Hi According to Perth immi auto reply email today, they are assessing 173 to 143 applications lodged on 24 June 2013

So perhaps they applied later than you can recall

    Cheers

  12. hiya Cassie1e04. Well, you look like a lucky person, and seem to have jumped a few days ahead in this visa game, going by what Barry001 said earlier. Is Immi a bit all over the place? We lodged in June 2013, and were lucky enough to be informed on acknowledgement of what we had to do and when, which in some ways makes life a bit easier. A waiting game for us all!! Interesting what you have said about viewing the ten years wait, unfortunately due to my age I may not make it, haha

Keep the info coming. C x

    Hi everyone

Just to complicate the lodgement to assessment/CO assignment date, today's auto reply from immi says they are assessing applications lodged on 20 May 2013

So in 5 days they have gone from assessing applications 19 months and 2 weeks after lodgement to 18 months and 1 week after lodgement

How Tony1 got his assessment date less than 5 months after lodgement complicates it even further

    Barry

PS perhaps Alan Collett of Gomatilda could throw some light on this - Please

  13. Hey barry

Now we have to wait for the case officer before getting our aos processed, so yeah, its still pending.

Centerlink processing is same in every state, it takes 2 days (interview, deposit and approval) to process an aos.

What take time is the queue we are in! If im supposed to apply for aos in the next few days and people already got their appointments for that period, its gonna take me a month to get through.

    Rich

    Hi

Here in Perth it took 3 to 4 weeks just last July for ours to be processed

In our acknowledgement letter they stated that we could apply for AOS 12 months after lodgement

    Cheers Barry

  14. Hey Cass

Processing date is based on the lodgement date.Im just 3 days behind, "the email" can arrive any moment for me lol. ( Heaps excited )

    Rich

    hi

I see on your timeline that you still have your AOS to do ,or have you done it and not updated the timeline

Am asking because Centrelink offices in some cities are notoriously slow in processing them !!

    Cheer Barry

  15. Hi Rich

Auto reply from perth immi as of 1600 Perth time states that they are processing 143s lodged in March 2013

Both Andalog and jen 1977 have already stated that if your paperwork is in order the processing time is about 2 weeks

I don't really think that it is appropriate for you to ask an agent(in this case gomatilda)for info on this subject without being prepared to pay for info supplied when it appears from recent posts by you that you are already are well informed, albeit it misguided ,about the procedural process

  16. Just to clarify what was put on earlier. My father-in-law is paddyman1 and he application date was 4/2/13 and acknowledgement date was 14/4/13. Acknowledgement date is not the lodgement date, it is the date of the letter that is sent from immigration acknowledging your application has been received. On the acknowledgement letter is also states the lodgement date.

At the beginning of August we received a letter requesting for the AOS, medical and police check. The police check had already been done. The medical was completed on 18/8/14 and as we had one AOS rejected as my husband could not be the AOS for his dad, as he is already the AOS for his mum and step father we had to do all the paperwork again. This finally went through on 02/09/14. So apart from the police check nothing else was done before it was requested by immigration. This did slow the process down. We were not given the acknowledgment letter from our first immigration agent and if we had been those things would have been done earlier.

The second VAC was requested 03/10/14 and was paid by my FIL to our immigration agents 'go Matilda' and it was paid by them on 13/10/14. My father-in-law had his visa granted yesterday 17/10/14

so from start to finish it has taken 20.5 months. Hopefully it does get quicker for those waiting.

My FIL has booked his flight today and we will have him here end of November.

Hi. Jenn , Thanks very much for the updates

I suspected as much that lodgement had been confused with acknowledgement because on the Gainwave website the lodgement date no longer appears on the tracker after the application lodgement has been acknowledged!

It just shows that too little understanding of the terminology of the CPV process can lead to the wrong conclusions

    Regards

    Barry

  17. Hey again

If you are talking about gainwave.co.uk, it is working fine.

Recent post of Orphan (Saaustralia CPV thread):-

PROCESSING UPDATE as at 15 October 2014

Some REALLY good news for everyone in the Waiting Room.

Based on the latest information appearing in the progress tracker on the UK website www.gainway.co.uk/cpv/ it seems as if the visa processing delay is reducing....and significantly!

An applicant "paddyman1" has posted the following timeline:

    Application lodged: 14 April 2013

Case Office appointed: 03 October 2014

VAC Request date: 03 October 2014

    Days to CO: 537

This means that despite the official announcements being published by the Parent Visa (which still say March 2013 processing) some of the visa teams are already half way through April 2013!

What is also interesting here is that it has taken this fellow only 17 months & 3 weeks from visa lodgement to Case Officer, following which his second VAC payment was requested on the same day! It appears that he had all his paperwork done and ready by the time his CO was appointed, including the AOS side of things (which he completed on 01 September 2014), which is why his application was approved immediately.

And this is not an isolated case. Another timeline posted by "Day325" reflects the following

    Application Lodged: 25 March 2013

Case Officer appointed: 09 October 2014

VAC Request Date: 09 October 2014

VAC Payment date: 13 October 2014

    Days to CO: 563

And yet another - "Jitty" posted

    Application Lodged: 26 March 2013

Case Officer appointed: 14 October 2014

    Days to CO: 567

It may be that UK visa applications are dealt with faster than those from South Africa....but I don't believe so. What I think happens is that visa applications are allocated in batches to the various Case Officers and Teams, and the speed at which they process each batch of visas depends entirely on how complete their applications are. If there are documents missing, or they have to wait for PCCs or Medicals, then everything is delayed.

Another thing is that all three of these applicants mentioned above have gone through agents. That is not to say that Agents get preferential treatment, but rather that agents will ensure that all the documentation is completed correctly and submitted timeously. This supports my "be prepared" theory

If I am correct, it also means that the Parent Visa Centre reports the visa processing date according to the last application still outstanding, and not against those which have already been completed. This is to prevent a flood of enquiries from applicants who feel that their application has been overlooked.

There are lessons for all of us this. Firstly, don't wait for your CO to ask for medicals, PCC and AOS approval; have this done and all your documents in place before your review date. Secondly, don't read too much into the "official date" reported by the Parent Visa Centre, as this represents the worst case scenario. And thirdly, pray that the applicants in front of you have all their ducks in a row, so that you are not delayed unnecessarily!

    Rich

(sorry orphan, im just lazy haha)

Hi the website http://www.gainway.co.uk does exist but it has nothing to do with CPV tracking - I think you mean http://www.gainwave.co.uk

  18. Thanks for the update Rich, Have tried Gainwave again server seems to be down in UK, have tried ipad phone and laptop still unavailable over here.

it should be noted that lots of the entries have dates that are all over the place so in some cases may not be true reflection of where they are.

Processes in some cases are all carried out premature and out of sequence if dates are accurate.

We have applied via. an agent and at all stages been told not to do anything until case officer allocated, we also contacted the medical centre in Plymouth to get the medicals undertaken in advance and were told by them that the ref. comes via case officer and medicals cannot be undertaken without the designated ref. which we only get on case officer allocation, so not sure how some folks getting them done prior to case officer.

Hopefully someone may clarify further in the meen time, patiently waiting and our 18 months up end of month so anytime soon hopefully anytime soon

    Hi

I can confirm that Gainwave in still down (here in Perth 1645 hours)

If you want to go ahead with your medicals you can obtain your HAP Id by emailing Perth immi and quoting the reference HAPLTR in the subject text and quoting your file reference number which you would have been supplied with as part of your acknowledgement letter

    Barry

  19. Yep its my parents and we are a couple. I will get those documents certified (not seen it done for free here tho!). Do we need to provide group certificates/mortgage info now or wait to be asked by Perth?

    Thanks

    Emma

Hi Just googled free certification in Melbourne and it seems that your local police station will do the certification for you for free

    Cheers

  20. Hi guys, we emigrated 2 years ago from Yorkshire to the Mornington Peninsula and found PIO incredibly useful when applying for our visa. We would like to sponsor my parents to live out here and they have just sent us their completed 143 visa form and documents. I wondered if anyone could clarify which documents we need to provide to accompany the form 40? Do they need to be certified? The guidance notes are a bit vague.

    Thanks in advance :-)

    Emma

    Hi

Perth immi will only accept certified copies of documents

You say "we" emigrated to Oz. From that I assume that you are a couple.

If you are the daughter of the parents who you wish to sponsor and are married you will need to supply a certified copy of your birth certificate and a certified copy of you marriage plus evidence that you have been a settled resident in Oz for more that 2 years

Certification of documents is provided free of charge in many shopping centres (I can only vouch for Perth)by retired solicitors and JPs Just take the original document with a photocopy of it and they will certify the photocopy for you

    Hope this helps

    Cheers
