  1. I guess most of the April applicants got their grants... Can't believe the wait continues even though I applied in may 2014...

I am still waiting too. I lodged the application late April. I think different teams have different processing times. Hang in there, it will come eventually. :)

  2. Hi Farah,

I guess we are on the same boat. As I mentioned gsm team 13 is asking for the information (form 80, 1221 and CV) after 2 months and they said they are not CO, only collects required information. No idea about the CO assigned or not. I do not know contact numbers and even if I did, I hesitate to contact them since I do not know what the outcome will be. We will just send the required forms and wait for their response.

I will keep you guys updated and please also give update if you hear anything more/receive grant. Then we will have idea about how long after contact from team 13 one usually gets the grant.

I pray for all of us to receive their grants as quickly as possible.

    Cheers.

    Hi,

I received an email from GSM team 13 too, I think this means we do have COs assigned to our cases because this is a team which helps the COs for faster processing of applications but not sure though. I'd say if we do not have COs and if we have not initially been assessed by COs why the call for further documents then? so yeah I think we've got COs but there has been no reason to contact probably. I think the CO allocation dates will be updated pretty soon. So hang in there, stay positive, it will become our turn too.

    Good Luck People

  3. We've received our grant last friday! What a relief!

We had uploaded all our documents included PCC and medicals at the time we lodged, and I think it was the best method!

Wish you all the best for your future grant!

    Congratulations,

Good to hear people from April are getting grants.

    Fingers crossed for everyone

  4. Hi all

So I asked our agent for a progress update today - they said they've not heard anything about us being allocated a case officer, and that apparently there is a backlog of skilled migration visas as they come up to financial year end (??) so it may be a few weeks?!! Bit weird considering that folk in the May 189 thread appear to have case officers already....I am thinking that we must have too. I hope so!

    Hi,

I actually realised not many people are getting COs these days, but I thought backlog was for 190 visa and I know 190 people have received "the delay" email. So not quiet sure what is happening there.

BTW, is there anyway to find out you have been allocated a CO other than COs contacting you?

  5. I've got a CO today. She asked for few more documents. Most of it have already been uploaded. it's a bit weird...

Finger crossed for all of you!

Nice, Good to know ppl from late April are being allocated to COs.

Good luck with the rest of the process, hopefully we will hear about some grants soon :)

  6. Hi, I stayed for 3 years in Canada(for work) and rest of my life in India. So do I need to get the police clearance from Canada and India both?

    Please share your opinion :-)

I believe so, I think I have seen it somewhere that if you have stayed anywhere for more than 12 month you need to get police clearance but not sure though.

  7. Hello All,

We also lodged our application in late April.

I saw in another thread people from May are getting COs, I have a feeling the more documents we frontload the later we will get to know our CO.

We might have all been allocated COs and we just do not know it yet.

    Good Luck to you All.

  8. Hello All,

I lodged my 189 visa application almost a month ago, using the scanned copy of the original assessment letter (Assessed by Engineer Australia), it was scanned and emailed to me by my friend. However a couple of days ago my friend informed me that the original letter got lost when he was moving to a new house. I wondered if at any stage during the applicatoin process we are required to submit the hard copy of the original letter.

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Thanks

  9. Hi All,

Just today I received an invitation on SkilledSelect to apply for 189 visa. I was hoping if you guys could help with the next stage.

So I have received the invitation and I am now allowed to lodge the visa application but not quiet sure what I need to do from here on. I have got the follwoing questions which would be great if you could spare some time to answer them (Do not go hard on me as I am pretty new to this forum :)

    1. Once I hit the proceed with visa application botton, do I have a chance to partially complete the application and returning back to it later?

    2. What sort of documetns should I have ready before proceeding with the application?

    3. Do I have to have things like medicals and police checks now or I will be asked for them later? Should they be included with the application to make a valid application or they will be required once we are assigned a CO.

    4. Do I need to pay now?

    5. Does paying the application fee makes the application valid?

BTW I had a quick search on the forum could not find the answers to above questions.

It would be great if I could be helped here.

    Thanks for your time
