The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) is the assessing authority nominated by the Australian Government to provide expert advice to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) about qualifications and skilled employment experience in respect of the skilled occupation of Quantity Surveyor ANZSCO 233213. A copy of our current Skilled Migration Assessment Policy and Application Form are available for download from our website http://www.aiqs.com.au/site.php?id=76. The qualification requirement in Section 7.1 of our Skilled Migration Assessment Policy states that applicants must have a degree in “Quantity Surveying or Construction Management and Economics”. The definition of “Quantity Surveying” is interpreted by the definition set out in Section 2 of the Policy. Therefore, applicants with degrees in allied professions can be considered. Our Assessors would conduct a further assessment of qualifications, upon application, based on your degree and related transcript documents. Our Assessors would also conduct an assessment on your skilled employment, upon application. Please note as an assessing authority, the AIQS does not allocate points and we are unable to provide migration advice. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they understand the requirements of the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) for the visa they wish to apply for http://www.immi.gov.au/. We hope this further information assists you. Regards, Karen Schleter | Skilled Migration and Membership Assistant Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
