  1. As I said earlier, I'm just trying to explain myself. The situation is more than acceptable to me which is why I'm willing take my chance, however slim, in moving to Australia. Thanks for the input anyway.
  2. I know I'm granted a lot of privileges in Australia as a NZ citizen... however as I mentioned earlier, I see myself permanently living in Australia therefore I'd like to be able to vote, have access to fully covered healthcare, maybe even go to grad school if I want to or be able to provide my future kids with tertiary education which all require access to student loans which in turn is only offered to citizens and to become a citizen you will need a PR hence my dilemma. Just trying to explain myself since so many of you are confused as to why I'm even bothering with PR applications. Anyhow, Thank you to everyone who replied for all the information!
  3. I know my chances seem bleak but I already have the opportunity to work and live in Australia indefinitely ( New Zealand citizen.. I know this site is for poms but there's a ton of info on here applicable to all situations). However, I'm looking to be a permanent part of the Australian community and would therefore like to apply for a PR and eventually citizenship. I have a teacher registration in New Zealand which is recognised in Victoria which is where I want to go. Would this somehow increase my chances? Having a permanent job on application for my PR?
  4. Ok great thanks for all the info... Does anyone happen to know any good immigration lawyers in melbourne specifically?
  5. Yeah it is on some csol lists however I'm not experienced in teaching any languages. I also have family in Australia.... could I somehow go through them?
  6. Hello! As everyone probably knows, primary school teachers are not on the Sol list and I was wondering whether there any other possible way to apply for a PR? I know this is a long shot but hey, I'm at least going to try asking. Are primary schools willing to sponsor you after you have worked with them for a while and anything like that? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! And Thank you in advance!
  7. Hi, I was looking through the state occupation list for Victoria and came across requirements for primary school teacher. It said that you would need to registered with the state's Institute of Teaching which is fine but it also says, and I quote, Must have experience teaching at least one of the following languages: Chinese Indonesian Japanese Korean French German Italian Greek Spanish Turkish.......Now my question is, do these rules apply? because it seems a little off that a primary school teacher would need these skills when a language isn't necessarily taught during primary school. Could someone please clarify this? And if you have applied for a PR through the CSOL as a primary school teacher, approximately how long did it take you? I know that it differs from case to case but I just need a rough idea to be able to plan things out.
