  1. Hello everyone, haven't been on here for some time now but I'm back and I need a little help if anyone can help!? My prospective marriage visa was granted in April I move to Oz in July & got married on 26th November ( which was the best day ever :)) Anyway now it's time to start doing the next part of my visa, I used an agent for the first part of the visa as I thought I might have a few complications.. Now it's time to do the next part I've been told I can't use the same immi account and have to do a new one... My question is can I set an immi account up now and then put the application in when I'm ready or do I have to wait until I'm ready to submit the application? Before I can open the account? Many thanks

  2. I know how frustrating it is & it's nice when u finally get a co but the name of the game is patience ;) easy for me to now lol when I first knew the time scale I was like omg no :/ but set my sights on the 12 month mark & hoped it wouldn't be longer than that. Came dead on 10 months & I was over the moon with that... It is hard when u see others get their granted early & maybe a feeling of not fair but really all u can do is say good luck to them...hang in there everyone one, the time really does go so fast :) Wishing u all the best of luck :)

  3. Congratulations, Jen! Really pleased for you - you've been a stalwart on the site and it's great to see it finally happening for you.

Thanks Markp, it's a great feeling..... Just sorting out removals & a goodbye night out ;) a quick trip to Spain to spend some time with my mum then We'll be off :) hope yr plans r coming along?

I'm on a PMV SO I'll be staying on here for when I start the next part in 9 months time and that part I'll do on my own without an agent.... I'm sure I'll need a little help lol all the best to u :)

  4. Congratulations Jen44!!!! That is so exciting- good to see another PMV grant through.

Just curious about what you said with regards to the 9 months thing- is this that they will only approve 9 months before the expected wedding date at the soonest?? Ours is set for March 2017....really wanting to get this grant through asap so I can apply for jobs in Aus! We are not planning to move until August but the field I am searching in has several openings for August/September but most require "evidence that you are able to work in Australia" (understandably so) which we don't have yet :( Our CO said for us to expect a grant through around 8 months before the wedding date (so that would put us at July) allowing 1 month afterwards to lodge the spouse visa application in Australia.

We applied in August and we are just getting really antsy at this point :(

i was told they like to give u at least 1-2 months after wedding date so for me that rings true I get married end November so I'll have till 19th jan to submit next part. I know someone else that only has a month after wedding so sound about right. If yr visa comes in July that give u a month after wedding? Yes.?... Would be so much better if the 9 months started when u activate the visa... Lots to sort out right at the last minute, not that I'm complaining lol I'm over the moon to get the grant :)

  5. Hi everyone, I have just joined the forum!

Just returned from a trip to Australia with my boyfriend to see if we wanted to go ahead with a move - came back Sunday, applied for the 309 Monday and uploaded all the docs Tuesday. Its been an interesting read on here so I thought I would join in the waiting game.

He and I have been together 4.5 years and defacto for just over 2 so we are looking at the 309 rather than the 100 obviously.

welcome & good luck... The wait isn't as bad as u thing it's gonna be, I applied almost 10 months ago & looking bk it's gone pretty fast..... I think the key is to keep yrself busy! Lol :biglaugh:

  6. Hi everyone! just wanted to do a super quick update.

Arrived in Perth on Saturday after a smooth 21 hour Journey via Singapore on Singapore Airlines. The only issue I had with my journey was when checking my bags in at Heathrow, the lady at the desk didn't know about Singapore's 40kg allowance. luckily I had an email from them a couple of months ago confirming, so she checked with her supervisor and it was fine. Just a word of warning that it might be worth getting some written confirmation with who you intend to fly with, as it was an extra 56GBP per kilo and didn't fancy paying nearly 700 for an extra case!

Fast forward a few hours to arriving in Perth, had all my paperwork ready to be questioned, and I walked straight through. Nothing. Maybe it was because i'm from the UK? i don't know, but I was expecting a 'why are you emigrating' at least. Nope! So out I came to Benn waiting for me in arrivals and there our 3 hour journey drive began.

Since then I've been doing all the boring stuff like opening bank accounts, sorting medicare, registering at GP's etc. The weather has been around 24 which has been lovely, and i'm just starting to feel a little less jet lagged and more human!

all going well then, so glad to hear that :) sounds like yr feet haven't hit the ground yet! Lol thanks for update :)

  7. 100 visa granted today! I checked and the date we lodged was actually 4th Sept. So 7 months, more or less. I ended up speaking to our case officer and she was so, so lovely. Amazing how you forget there are real people behind the distant, administrative process.

I don't post a lot but my wife and I have followed this and other threads a great deal. You've been a real source of information, support and reassurance. Thank you so much!

woohoo that's fantastic news so so happy for u :jiggy:congratulations & all the best for yr future in Oz..... Hoping for mine next week as I have now received my Spanish police check back

  8. Visa granted this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :yes::biglaugh::smile::wideeyed::jiggy::yes::biglaugh::smile::wideeyed::jiggy::yes::biglaugh::smile::wideeyed::jiggy:

    7 months 1 week 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Straight to 100!!

I AM GOING HOME after 11 amazing years in the UK and taking my beautiful little family with me.

woohoo that's fantastic news & brilliant time..... Best of luck Tracy x

  9. WOOHOO the South African police check is all done!!!! Won't get it until tomorrow tho [emoji30] finally the last piece of our visa jigsaw. Then more waiting......... [emoji22]

@Jen44 hope your Spanish one comes soon.

@Aussiegirl same for you Middle East one!!!!!

That's great news Tracy, bet yr so happy to finally be getting it tomorrow..... I had some good news today, my son's friend called Spain & was told it's being processed & I should receive it in about 10 days. Unsure if that's 10 working days but it felt real good to hear it's being processed:) I'm gonna be soon happy when it finally arrives, like u say the last bit of the puzzle!!! Lol ;)

  10. Any news on PCC, @Jen44???

No nothing yet, it's been over 2 months since they signed for it... My sons friend was told there's a 6/8 week delay but now it's over 2 months she's gonna call the Spanish ministry of justice again see if they can give her any more info... If this was holding the grant up I'd be so pissed off but since they couldn't grant anyway it's not bothered me to much. Would be nice to have it in my hand tho!!! Lol

How things going with yr plans?

  11. That's such a pain!! At least you know it can't be approved until next month anyway which makes it two months from the date you sent off for the police check. Still, it's always nice to know that everything is in and ready to go! We're nearly there :cute:

it is a pain but like u said we have to wait a little longer for our grants anyway so I'm not overly stressed about. Will be good to get it back tho... Agent said I may have to apply for it again when I do the next part of visa but June next year is the 10 year mark so hoping if they ask for police checks after that date I won't need to unless it goes on the date u put yr application in!?!?

  12. Hi everyone. We were asked to submit 4 extra pieces of evidence. The UK police check, the Medical, form 80 and a South African police clearance. We have done the first 3 bits and uploaded them all but we are still waiting for the SA police to come back. The deadline to submit these has passed this week.

If any of you have missed a deadline, how did you notify the dept? I have used the online form to let them know but you get no confirmation of this and have had no response. I phoned them today and the person I spoke to said firstly that the CO had looked at our file yesterday and noted that there was no UK police check done (it is definitely uploaded to immi - I checked) and said to reply to the original email I got from the case officer requesting the evidence. I have done that and got an automated response saying that this email was for submitting documents only?!?! Should I do anything else????

hey Tracy, I'm still waiting for my Spanish police check to come back.. I was told to apply for it after the 19th December so sent for it on 23rd.. It should have only taken 10 days but I've now been told there's a big back log at the moment due to Spanish law change so instead for taking 10 days it will take 2 months!! I'm using an agent & she has ask for an extension, I scanned my receipt from the post office so they could see when I sent for it... I haven't heard anything for the pasted week so I assume that everything is ok.... At the end of the day it's out of our hands.. I know of others waiting for police checks from other countries so we are not the only ones.... Hope this helps a little :)

  13. Woop woop! Got my request to depart Australia! I uploaded my police check about two hours before and then bam! There it is!

I have 28 days to confirm my departure from Australia and until 26 May 2016 as my first date of entry! ( this is exactky a year from the date of my earliest police clearance)

its time for a holiday then! Woop woop!

woohoo so so happy for u, congratulations :jiggy:
