I had enquired from the Italy office and was informed that they do not issue the document in English, in fact the document was issued to other applicants also(for what purpose, I do not know) but they were all issued in Italian as I was informed.

Hope the document gets accepted, or else have to check out with NAATI.

From memory Italy will issue the police docs in English but you have to request that specifically else they just send in Italian. You could also contact your local Italian consulate or embassy in your country of residence and they should have the details on their website on what to do. There must be an office in one of the major cities in India? Perhaps you could go there in person.

My name is Amit, and I have applied for Subclass 189 visa under SO of "Ships Master" and am at last stages of visa process.

I have been sailing since 2003 under different flags. Last month I was contacted by my case officer and was asked to provide the police clearance documents from Italy and Liberia (under whose flag I have sailed most). For Liberia, I could not obtain thus provided Character Statutory Declaration, but for Italian PCC, the authorities did responded and sent me the document by normal post on 13th of Nov.

Now my questions are:

1) If anybody under same or other occupation in SOL, has applied either from Italy or abroad and was asked to provide the PC document, then kindly advise what to do if the document is issued in Italian language. Is the document accepted by DIBP, if not then what is the procedure for convincing DIBP??

2) How much time can I expect till the document arrives to my place from Italy?? I stay in Dehradun, India.

3) What if the document does not arrive at all??

Guys please help, and let me know your advise to above querries...
