Hi guys, I have a quick question. My boyfriend is currently over here on a Working Holiday Visa, I'm a PR and we're looking at what options he has available to him for him to stay out here with me. We know we can apply for a de facto partner visa (we've been together more than a year and have the evidence to prove it) but he's wondering if he can get a skilled visa instead as it appears to be a cheaper option. His job doesn't appear on the SOL but it does appear on the CSOL (he's a Software Tester). Now, we've seen a website that says the following for his job (I'll also put the link below as well):
"As the occupation features on the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List (CSOL), it is possible to apply for a Skilled Nominated 190 visa, a Skilled Regional Nominated 489 visa or a number of employer sponsored visa options if you have a firm offer of employment."

Is it possible for him to apply for a Skilled Nominated 190 visa with this profession? The whole difference between SOL and CSOL is really confusing and we don't want to invest the time and money if this isn't the best option for us. If anyone could offer any insight or advice it would be greatly appreciated. We really want to get the ball rolling so he doesn't have to do selective work to extend his Working Holiday for another year and so he can get his PR asap, we've noticed that a lot of the jobs available are full time and no one will take him on due to the limitation of only being able to work for one employer for 6 months.
Thanks guys
