  1. thanks, we are looking into the return of the $14000 early, but that's doubtful. I was just hoping that a portion of the $64,000 could also be returned. It would be very simple for Medicare to look and see how much was used while they were there, deduct that, plus maybe a percentage for the trouble and then return the remainder. But I guess I was being a bit silly lol. Thanks again
  2. Hi, Please help. My parents emigrated to Australia back in 2009. After a few years in OZ they returned to the UK for good. My question is when they applied for the visa they had to pay something like $64,000 into Medicare to speed up the process. Is it possible to get some of this money refunded to them? obviously they did use Medicare in Australia, but no where near this amount. Does anyone know of a refund being granted? And who could they speak to? I feel very bad for my parents that they paid this money and it didn't work out for them there. Many thanks for any help offered. Janine
