  1. Hi All My washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and dishwasher are all less than a year old so I think it makes sense to take this. As I understand it these can easily have the plugs changed and thus useable in Oz? Any tips for shipping these in terms of packing (inside move cube). And for the fridge/freezer? Does the fridge/freezer have gas in it and would this present an issue? Thanks!
  2. thanks for your responses. When we flew London - Greece recently we were able to bring through 200ml bottles of ready made milk (eg. Cow and Gate) and there was no problem at all. You no longer have to taste as they have new scanning machines for food and milk. I think I will contact Singapore airlines and ask about the cows milk.
  3. thanks for your response snifter. What do you mean about a value rule?
  4. I understand we need to declare all items under 1 year old in move cube. How reasonable are customs going to be about this? Want to ship a few items of new flat packed furniture plus perhaps a few boxes of nappies. Would it be best to take new packaging off items and not declare or leave packaging on and declare?
  5. Flying London- Bris with our 1 year old twins. Both drink cows milk. Any idea if Singapore Airlines will supply this onboard or will I need to bring a zillion bottles of long life cows milk with me? I'm talking the 200ml cow and gate growing up milks. And will I need to declare these to Oz customs upon arrival? Can I bring in some (how many would be reasonable for twins?) for the first few days till we get sorted?
  6. Moving back to Bris with our 1 year old twins. Heard nappies pricey in Oz. Thinking of taking back quite a few boxes in the move cube. How many do you think I can get away with so that customs don't think I'm trying to sell them!
  7. Can anyone recommend any reputable dog walking companies to give Stanley a little run whilst at Quarantine Eastern Creek? Thanks!
  8. My beloved Pug a fellow Braccy breed will be going to Sydney from London with PetAir via Vancouver on Monday. I did my research and I'm sure he's going to be fine. I can let you know once he's arrived in Sydney!
  9. We are doing our move back in 2 stages. Already sent 1 move cube which is due to be delivered in Bris on Monday. Was about to book the 2nd (also a large) and shocked to find the increase in the customs delivery charge from $475 to $858 AUD. Has anyone found any alternatives to the move cube for about the same size (a large) and price? Otherwise I guess better the devil you know?!
  10. Hi All Move cube coming in a week! How did you pack your furniture such as couch, armchair? Did you buy furniture covers? If so where from eg. Amazon? Plastic or? Or would some old sheets be okay? What did you use to stop things going mildew? Many thanks
  11. Thanks to both of you for your responses. I'm leaning towards via Vancouver,(not keen on Dubai at all) but we have also been given another option via Singapore. Any feedback on this? Thanks again Sarah
  12. Hi there Returning home this year and bringing our beloved London pug with us. Have narrowed it down to 2 pet transport companies but would like to hear from any pug owners in Oz or similar who have been there done that. Which company did you use? Were you happy with them? Did your little friend arrive fine? Did they go via Vancouver or Singapore or? Many thanks
