  1. Hey Chris, only really showed visa stuff at Heathrow. Especially to get extra baggage allowance. We stopped off at Singapore for a few days restbite. That was fab. Not cheap by any means but well worth it. Especially Sentosa Universal Studios Transformers ride. Awesome!

We got the express route at customs too. We'll chuffed as queue was very very long.

We're staying in a Seaford Rise in a lovely rental. Can see the sea and sunset from.the kitchen window. Moana Beach is just down the road. The new trainline goes to Seaford. We've used it a couple of times and it's excellent.

Very happy we chose Adelaide. You'll love it.

Still can't believe we're here. It was so stressful in the run up but worth it so far.

The weather is changeable but fabulous. We were at the beach yesterday in 30 + degrees and then we drove north to car hunt in the rain and 22 odd degrees.

Go on Poms in Adelaide. Lots of very friendly folk on there too. ;-)

    Nice to hear!

What did you do to get to use the customs express route? Seems like a very nice advantage after such a flight!

Will keep you posted once we arrived and settled a bit!

    Enjoy!

  2. Hi guys, hard to believe it's almost a year! We're here, in Adelaide. Almost two weeks. But we made it. Still finding our feet. Good luck with your journey.:-) x

    Hi Wen,

you wasted no time! What's your first impression of Adelaide?

Did you have to show any papers (visa or so?) at airport security?

What area are you living in now? We have a studio for our first month near Blackwood...

  3. Hi all,

Hoping to get some advice from somebody out there lol I've just tried to submit my EOI for 190 subclass visa following the completion of my nursing and midwifery skills assessment. Unfortunately though on completing the EOI 14 questions the system summarized my total points as 45!! And that's not what I've calculated :( I have at least 55 points with the extra 5 coming from the state sponsorship...does anyone know what this means??

Your help would be massively appreciated!!

    Hi Wendox,

maybe you counted points skills that are not cumulative??

If you read carefully the points system you should find the answer...

  4. Hey Everybody,

How are things going for you guys?

Has everybody now made the Big Move to Oz?

We have finally managed to sell our house, and will be looking to book our (one way :jiggy:) flights for the first week in January. One full year since applying.

Anyways, I hope you are all being successful in your move, and are enjoying your new lives in Oz.

    Cheers

    Eddie

    Hi Eddie,

our house is sold too, flight booked for the 16th of January!! :)

First 10 days in / around Perth while cats are in quarantine, then flight to Adelaide.

    Where are you going to?

  5. Hi all,

Just want to share my opinion, even though I haven't moved to Oz yet.

People tend to look at others so often, whether it's for making decisions or not, many don't trust their own instinct anymore.

I am reading this post too, but deep down I know I won't let me guide here. It's more out of curiosity.

I learned to go with my gut, feelings that come from deep down.

Those feelings tell me I want to live in Oz for the weather, the lifestyle, nature & wildlife, etc, for this period of my life.

Nobody knows what he/she will want in 5, 10 or 20 years. We change, our interests change, accept it and act accordingly.

You might be thinking, that's easy, you haven't even moved to Oz yet. And that's true.

Right, well, lets talk in a few years then... What can I say?

I will have had time to build my new life to the fullest as I am dreaming it now. If at some point I start missing things like family too much, it might be a sign to come back.

If negative feelings supersede the positive ones, then you are maybe in the wrong place, or there could be other things going wrong in your life that influence your decision.

Either way, YOU should investigate where those feelings come from.

I honestly believe that when you live your life truly from within, there are no wrong moves.

There is no harm in having doubt, as long as you follow your own path.

Stop seeing it as a "mistake" to emigrate, or move back, it's the path of life, embrace it.

If you already think you might regret the move back to Europe, then stay right where you are, because you probably will.

I'm taking my flight soon, with open heart and no regrets, towards the life I believe suits me best.

And if I'd have to come back because I don't feel happy (after a thorough evaluation), then I will....

Hope this can help some of you out!

    Take care

  8. eddieb7,

Me too applied for VIC SS 190 visa on 30th of January 2014. additional documents were requested by CO and last document was submitted on 22nd of April. still no response from CO.did you get any response from CO after submitting medical? b'

se some get delay emails. I didnt get any response.

    Hi Oz111,

after submitting documents your application needs to be picked-up again, this could take a while. In my case it took several weeks after i uploaded the last documents before receiving the delay email. They will not reply to say they received medicals.

I'd say it's likely that you will hear something by mid or end of May, but be prepared for an answer that doesn't say anything more than "you have to wait a some more now" :)

    Hang in there

  9. Hi everyone. My case is very similar to what you all have been talking about lately. I applied for 190 visa, sponsored by WA state, on 4th February. Since then, I haven't got any contact from the case officer. So, I sent an email to know wich team was my application assigned to. They emailed me giving the department contacts in Adelaide. So I called and I was told that I had already a case officer allocated to my visa and that he woul only contact me if he needed some further information or documents. If not, I should wait until the deadline ( 3 months - which means until 4th May) and contact them again. They informed me that a visa can be granted directly... But I feel like its taking too long.

I have seen people getting a 189 visa (with 60 points - the same amount that I have) in a few weeks. The DIBP says on the website that visas 190 are in a 3rd group of priority, and visas 190 are in 4th group. In theory, it means that visa 190 is faster but in reality...it's not at all!

My case officer is team 6 Adelaide. Has anyone got a visa grant lately for 190 subclass? Has anyone been recently contacted from team 6 Adelaide?

Good luck to us all!! Amen.. lolol

    Hi,

I had (still have) Team 6 Adelaide. They contacted me recently for more documentation on my claimed experience, and two weeks later they sent me the delay email.

There are enormous delays with the processing this year, so do not worry yet. If they need something, they will ask.

You will receive some news soon. Be prepared to receive a delay email instead of a grant email though...

    Stay positive!

  10. Hi All,

I want to let you know that I have also received the famous "delay email" saying there are serious delays

due to planning levels being reached for this program year.

I do not get an indication of when the visa will be finalized.

I guess there is not much else to do than to be patient, again!

  12. Hi Kiran,

Sorry cant answer your questio. Not heard of anybody being referred to thecommon wealth officer.

Hopefully somebodg else will come along with an answer.

Fingers crossed you dont have long to wait, for the answer you want...

    Cheers

    Eddie

I think your medicals have just been cleared actually...

Now processing will be continued by a CO.

It doesn't sound like a bad thing :)

  13. Hi weaz

    Thanks for your reply,,.

I have given my credit card details to the agent, i dont think he will pay with his card and later charged from my card. Since it is almost two months i am worried..

I understand that. The most logical thing to do is to call and demand proof of your application.

Let them know you will be calling every hour of the day until you saw what you want to see.

You are working with a registered agent right?!

  14. I applied for 190 for SA through a agent, he said me he lodged the application on 13 th of february 2014. I have done the medicals on 12 march and pcc on 18 march. According to e medical client my medical is submited to DIBP ON 16 th of march and it is completed for everyone of my family, and it says applied visa class is skilled nominated permanent .

My problem is, even though i lodged the visa on 13 th of feb, my visa fees has not deducted from my credit card upto now, agent says it is normal and he is not sharing anything with me,

Please some one can put some light on my side

    thanks in advance

@Sira: Chances are that your agent made the payment to DIBP, and charges you separately (later).

Wouldn't worry about that. As long as it says "status submitted" you should be fine.

@tigerfeet: You might have a CO but not know about it. If they don't need anything, they won't contact you. Consider it a good thing.

You can always call them to confirm that.

Hang in there, there will be news soon.

These are tough times but we will learn so much from it.

  15. Hi Guys

I called DIBP today. Thanks to Kapil for mentioning that he called. If you recall, in my last post I mentioned that on my Immi Account, health link got activated. Now, this link will be only activated once the CO is allocated.

So I have got a CO now, but he/she has not contacted me yet.

It took about 5 weeks and 2 days for the allocation of CO. I applied on 19th February.

    Cheers

    Thomas

They seem to be really busy, I was asked to upload additional documentation, have uploaded everything since almost 2 weeks, and again no news...

    Keep us posted

  16. The two threads that i read was on poms in adelaide under the thread "visa grant backlog" and British expats under thread "sc 190 and 489 visas close to quota". Maybe it only applys to people who haven't had an invite yet. We haven't got an agent to ask as we did it on our own. Just got to think positive as nothing has been confirmed yet so could be rumors

    Tigerfeet,

I'm afraid it's not for invitations only. There's a post stating his/her grant is delayed until July even though PCC & Medicals completed....

So, I'm not saying it's 100% sure, or that it is for everyone, but it's not looking good either.

If true, it is going to create a storm... Living so long with each leg in a different country is no joke.

    Let's wait for official updates.

  17. Any one who has lodged their 190 Visa Application in Feb 2014 ???

Please let me know if your CO is allocated ?

What about the people who lodged their Visa in Jan 2014 ???

Have you all got the CO ?

    @kapildeverampu

there is a post for the february gang already on the link below

    http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/204239-190-visa-february-lodge-gang-2014-a.html

There have been no recent CO allocations or grants as far as I know for people who lodged in January. (Except maybe some of the early January lodgers)

Take some time to read back the posts in here and try to relax, it's a long ride. :daydreaming:

Most people here have been waiting for more than 4 weeks already...

  18. Hey Everybody,

I lodged my 190 EOI on 14 February 2014. I requested WA state sponsorship - but have yet to hear anything back!

Starting to get really worried (and slightly depressed) - I only have 60 points (including state WA sponsorship).

Haven't had any contact from WA in Skillselect. How long do most people have to wait for initial contact from WA? I hear they contact people weekly - which means I wasn't selected last week (no!!!!!!)

My occupation is available on WASOL and the state priority 1 list. How do WA decide who to state sponsor?

I'm sure many people have been through this before - is it just a matter of waiting? (its killing me!):arghh:

    PWA,

WA has a waiting time of 30 days for state nomination, so wait another week or two and they will get back to you since you have 60 points.

They will check if your qualifications match, motivation, English skills, possibly your funds etc.

Try to keep life going on as always, and keep busy.

You could check Perthpoms.com where many people are waiting also

    Hope this helps a bit

    Take care!
