  1. hiya, no this is my problem. My agent in Sydney didnt mention this to me and now i have AHPRA registration and was just going through the 186 visa application and came across the screen about the ANMAC skills. I have contacted them and they claim that as i am going through on the 'agreement' stream of that visa it will be okay with just the AHPRA but im a bit nervous of sending all that cash only for them to come back and say no. I have contacted the Immigration office to see if they can give me some idea. eek!
  2. thanks for you replies. He has registered with NSW but they are assessing his 4 year teaching degree as only a three year degree, apparently it is one hundred credits short. they said that he can teach casual but not accredited and would have to do another course to be able to be accredited. Anyone have any experience of this? He has over 10 years teaching science in secondary level and his degree was 4 years science with QTS. thanks lots
  3. this could all be a bit random but i was wondering if anyone had any idea... Im currently applying for a 186 PR (being sponsored by a hospital in Sydney) going through the online form it asks my job and if ive had a skill assessment. As a nurse you have to have your skills assessed and verified by their nursing governing body, which i have. Does anyone know if this is equal to a skill assessment that the visa mentions? I was just going to put the reference number of my approval from AHPRA but someone mentioned that they thought it wasn't enough? thanks in advance, sarah
  4. hi all, im a staff nurse in the Uk planning to move to Sydney this year. I applied to AHPRA last year and it took a painful 5 months for them to approve my application. The hospital who are nominating me took AGES to get my nomination through, it is now. But the approval letter runs out in June this year and im not sure that our Visas will be through. Anyone have any experience of this or even if they managed to get AHPRA to extend their approval? They told me that they never do it but i have heard mixed reports. thanks sarah
  5. hello! Was wondering if anyone can help. We are applying to move on a sponsored 186 PR visa. its through my work as a nurse but the OH is a teacher and he will need to try and get some work too! He is secondary science with over 10 years experience in the UK. Anyone have a recommendations for good supply agencies to contact in Sydney? Thinking he wont be able to work full time straight away as getting kids settled and everything. thanks in advance sarah
