  1. The email I received says that I need to let them know when I am leaving and I need to depart for a minimum of 5 days just to ensure the system processes everything. We've both said we will just wait and come back permanently before 11/09 anyway. Pretty sure when I called they said 3 days so assuming the 5 days is just a generic timeline they send.

I knew they'd grant it after I had landed - did chase them before but the call handler quoted 10-14 months and that was that.

Chris/Vicki - I won't sit here and say just wait etc as we've seen it all before. The waiting has been so difficult but can only assume yours is close now.

Its great news for you Hun....and bless you, we all know what it's like. We'll get our day soon enough! Enjoy your break/visit xx

  2. So I've just woken up in stifling heat and checked my emails....

Someone has a grant letter sitting there!!

Over the moon really that it's finally been granted but gutted it couldn't have been 4 days ago before I travelled. I've now got to be back by 11/09/17 as that's when my police check expires.

But....at just over 5 months I've been granted. Finally.

    Party time.

Congratulations hun.....still no news for me... :-(

  3. You shouldn't feel guilty... well maybe just a little bit.

"I'd almost be tempted to advise someone to leave off a key document to generate an early request.

Common theme of people applying after but getting the grant before. CO requested documents early.

Squeeky wheel getting the grease principle"

It seems the way of it. I suspect software / case management jumps files to the top of the pile and CO's just grant whilst they're looking at it.

It creates some sense that you get punished for trying to do the right thing and diligently completing the application as thoroughly as possible.

So frustrating...I front loaded, medical.. police checks etc and have even just uploaded another police check as mine was due to expire may time :-(

  4. Hi All,

Our partner visa (the offshore one) has been accepted (yay) and we have been given a date that we must re-enter Australia.

Do we need to move back permanently by that date or can we just visit for a holiday and move back permanently after that date. What are the rules surrounding this?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Many thanks

    James

    hi James

congratulations!! Do you mind be me asking how long it took for your visa to be processed?

  5. Hi I applied on 8th Sept and still waiting on appointment of Case officer I went ahead before Christmas and done my medical and applied for my police check.

My wife and children are Australian so I'm now just waiting on my visa so as we can all start our new life in Adelaide. it's getting a bit frustrating as before I applied people seemed to be getting a case officer in the UK 3 months I have now been waiting just over 4 months and while I accept that was over Christmas and New Year holidays but I'm really hoping things will start to move soon.

I applied 2nd September and like yourself I've already done medical, police checks etc. I was thinking the same, no notification of casecofficer being allocated but I spoke to the European Service Centre yesterday and was advised that I do have a case officer assigned so I don't think they always let you know :-)

  6.

I found a number on the London Embassy page - you can only call Mon/Fri between 1pm-4pm. The number was 02074203690.

I mentioned to the guy on the phone I didnt think I had a CO yet and he corrected me. Gave me her name and said she will probably be in contact soon - obviously soon could be days or weeks right haha.

Strange that a few August applicants have had their contact for medicals or even a grant and yet 4 weeks later and we've had no contact.

Ahhh ok....I guess we have to take that as a positive though...if they are dealing with us in a queue then it should be soon right??

  7. In a few of the other forums so you may have seen my username around....

I applied 13/09/16 with a front loaded application and am yet to have any contact from a CO. I did call last week to ask if I need to tell them about my holiday to Oz in Feb and they advised at the same time I do actually have a CO named Jennifer.

I'm 4 months tomorrow and have seen a few straightforward applications processed in 5 so fingers crossed I get the grant prior to my holiday.

PingPoma - What exactly did you send to the Europe centre? Did you have any contact from a CO prior to grant?

    Hi Uhtred

what name number did you call my dear? I am about two weeks ahead of you (applied 2nd September) and haven't had any notification of CO either! Be nice to be able to chase up and at least see if it's been allcoated to someone!!

  8. Welcome! When did they request your medical, out of interest?

Thank you!! Within about 5 weeks the health declaration of my immi account changed to "please arrange medical" along with a hap id number. The last change was that medical all clear, no further action....and words to the effect of "your application can now proceed through processing"
