  2. The cost of completing the certif iv is considerably less than going back to university. Graphics is a shortage subject.
  3. Her degree is in graphic design. we are fully aware of her not teaching secondary but looking into TAFE teaching.
  4. Hi I have been reading a few posts and have a question. do I actually need to have my skills assessed if I can achieve 60? age = 25 ielts = 20 education = 15 The he reason being my wife completed her teacher training through the GTP route. Please can someone assist :-)
  5. Hi can someone please explain what a certificate iv taa is please.
  6. Hi Another post regarding teaching in oz. my wife has a gtp and she can not apply for migration due to not completing 4 years pre service at university. Does anyone know what qualifications are required for migration purposes to teach at a TAFE? Cheers john
  7. Will look into this thanks. Don't want too much more expense though.
  8. Hi Ryan Ive not been working as a sparky for the past 5 years as I didn't want to work away from home while I had a small child. I'm moving back to electrical maintenance during this month so will have over 5 years experience over 10 years. I'm 42 now and my points are low because of my age. We've worked it out and we only get 50 points so need the extra 10 from the 489 visa. Do you work for a MARA? If so what are the fees like? cheers john
  9. Thanks Vanduex. We are still trying to see if my wife's masters will over rule her gtp but they aren't back till 6th. Don't suppose anyone knows the answer to this?? Thank you you all for the replies much appreciated.
  10. Hi im just concerned about actually getting a job as we originally planned to go on a 189. Just as long as I work I'm not bothered which sector it is in. All goes towards PR
  11. Hi can anyone assist, if I apply for a 489 visa do I have to work only within that sector? I'm a electrician by trade but have recently passed my heavy rigid licence and would like to work within mining.
  12. I will look into this, not sure if the academic IELTS is too hard.:mask:
  13. Hi David85 I get 15 points for my age, 10 points for IELTS, 10 points for my experience (I have not been working as an electrician for the past 5 years), 10 points for my qualifications and 5 points for partner skills giving us 50 points - 10 points short. We have to use my skills as they will not accept the GTP. Cheers John
  14. Hi Can anyone help please!!! My wife has been teaching for 5 years now and is a Director at her school (Extended senior leader). This is were the problems start she went down the GTP route and we have now found out from AITSL that this is now valid for migration purposes. She is completing a PG Cert however this is post service as a teacher, is this accepted? I on the other hand do not qualify for enough points based on the 189 visa as I only have 55 points. I am a qualified electrician but have not been working in this sector over the past 5 years. I dont want to go down the route of paying for a company as it is very costly. Cheers John.
