  1. I know ANMAC advised timescale is 12-16 weeks, has anyone recently (last 6 months) received registration and can advise how long the process took?

    Thanks

    Julie

    Hi

Have a look at my signature it's just over 6 months ago. Mine was delayed as my reference did not meet their requirements :))

  2. It's great! Such a weight of the mind! However now starts the next challenge - finding an employer who will agree to supervise me for 6 months to enable me to get my Ahpra registration!

Wow March is just round the corner! You got jobs sorted?

Ahhh sounds like we're in a similar boat. I'm starting the whole ahpra process this week :err:

I'm a paeds trained diploma nurse so hoping to be offered the supervised practice. I'm happy to work as a nursing assistant till it comes through though, gives me a chance to try and get my head around the health care system.

  3. Congrats Paednurseclaire!!! Brilliant news- and mine has been granted the day after yours on 21/1/15!! Yeah!!!!!!!!! :jiggy:

Fantastic scottishlass!! It's an amazing feeling isn't it! So relieved, we have been sorting all sorts out since we got the news! Looking at mid March for the big move! Whoo hoo

  4. Hi all~

so happy to hear that many of you already have your visas granted. i have posted mine on 24th sept and sent form 80 and character clearance on 22nd dec but yet to hear anything. it has already been a month and im getting really really worried. does anyone have any advice on that! much appreciated!

I agree, give them a call. Or if you are using an agent ask them to call. Hope you get your grant soon

  5. My hubby has just done his first practice writing IELTS test.......Oh dear this is gonna be fun.....NOT!

It was not good by any stretch :arghh:

I am hoping that someone who has done the test could please answer this question... When you do the writing test do you get a spare sheet to write it rough, correct errors etc then rewrite it on the answer sheet? Or does it have to be done straight away on the answer sheet - no roughs?

I am hoping it is not the latter, as there will be cross outs and corrections all over the shop!!

    Many thanks x

As far as I remember to have to write in straight into the answer booklet I'm afraid. When it comes to time it's really not on your side in the ielts. I struggled getting the content done once in the time allocated. Keep practising, and time yourself especially in the reading sections. There are lots of practice tests out there on the Internet. Good luck

  6. Hi,

Thanks for advise, problem is topping up here would just take to long! House sale etc time to do it in the UK working. If we was in Oz we could live off savings (from house equity) whereas we don't have that luxury in the UK at the moment.

Now AMNAC skills test Standard ThreeThe applicant is assessed as meeting current Australian nursing and midwifery educational standards.

Now my wife has a DiHe not a degree does this mean she cannot get AMNAC assessed as it states it needs equivalent to a degree? So can she not get assessed?

    Hi

I've just been through the visa process. As far as I understand your wife dependant upon experience should receive a positive skills assessment from ANMAC. ANMAC take into consideration your qualification and experience and assessed me as equivalent to Australian degree. AHPRA are solely concerned with your qualification. I am DIP he nurse (child branch) and have yet to apply with AHPRA I am hoping to be offered registration with supervision. Is your wife adult trained?

  7. I couldn't be happier for you, Claire! That's the best news. :) We used George as well - he's fab. :)

Thank you collegegirl we are thrilled. Hats off to George and his team they are tremendous! Actually can't believe that we have the visa. I have to go to work now on a few hours sleep as I've been so giddy since we had the email. So much to do now, as I didn't want to let myself believe that it would all come together. Eek!!

  8. Hello all.

I just wanted to update this thread, just in case in helps anyone else. This morning we received the golden email from our agent George Lombard. 189 visa has been granted! We are over the moon! I hope this thread might help others who have similar circumstances realise their dream. George and his team have been fantastic throughout! I would highly recommend. Many thanks to you all for the advice and support! Australia here we come......

  9. Thanks joshbay84- I really hope so! I'm a bit worried that if I loose 5 points for being a month short of work experience my application will be rejected as my invitation was based on points that included those 5. Oooh it's so tough not knowing!

Hi Scottishlash I am still waiting too. I used an agent. I am unsure whether I even have a CO. I've just emailed my agent again, it's so frustrating isn't it :daydreaming:

  10. Hi Keighley, I was wondering what agency you used? I have been emailing someone from Go Matilda but haven't heard from him all week  really want to get the ball rolling as I know it takes a long time. Thanks xx

    Hi Jenna

I know your query wasn't directed at me. But thought I'd let you know I have used an agent George Lombard, highly regarded and costs are very reasonable. George and his team are based in Sydney. Should be able to find him on a Google search. Good luck

  11. We have just received a emailing granting us our 189 visa, in shock!!!

applied on the 12th October and was referred for our Medicals and asked for proof of business accounts! We got in!!!!!!

    Hi Gerrads

    Congratulations on the visa.

Can i ask why were your medicals referred and also when did you do your medicals. I lodged my application on the 30th September and I know my medical will have been referred. Unfortunately my agent has heard nothing as yet for DIAC. Unsure whether I have a case officer ? Many thanks

  12. Woohoo, woke up this morning to the golden email - 189 Visa Granted!!

Can't beleive it, its been a long hard trek including 4 IELTS tests!

I never used an agent but could not of done it without the help and info passed on from the members of PIO, many thanks.

Good luck to those still waiting.

    Paul

Great news Paul, let the fun begin!!

  13. We are a family of 4. We are awaiting 189 visa! The wait is driving me crazy :err: up all hours checking my phone :/ we are looking to fly over mid March?! Already sold UK home and in rented accommodation. Looking to locate Brisbane Gold Coast area.

  14. Hi guys

I noticed on the tracker that there wasn't much activity today so maybe the Department has finished up for Christmas? Hoping not as I lodged on the 30th Oct so I'm not too far away

Hi. According to the website they are open? But I agree no activity on the tracker today unless people haven't updated yet?! I'm still waiting too, at least Christmas is here to keep us distracted. I'm up throughout the night stalking my phone for the golden email! Ha! Good luck

  15. Hi all, we're just in the early stages of applying for our visa and was wondering when you apply to ANMAC do they send you a specific checklist of documents to be certified? Also can they be done with one certification if you catch my drift instead of individually?

Hi joe and Carrie. In regards to ANMAC, yes I recall having a tick box sheet with lots of information that you need to send and it gives you information on what needs to be certified. I can't quite recall if I downloaded it or whether ANMAC sent it to me. (I think ANMAC send it after you had done your initial application) But is a couple of sides of A4. In regards to certifying documents, each one needs to be certified individually. I had mine done in a local court with a JOP. I had to do mine in front of a full court, so brace yourself for that, I certainly wasn't expecting it, it's not a day I will forget! Ha! The process was all straight forward really, the only thing that I had to resend was my reference from my employer, mine did not contain enough information about day to day tasks e.g obs, dressings, medication adminstration basically everything that's a given and would not usually go in a reference.

Hope this makes sense and has been of some help
