  1. Hi We are trying to prove work experience of 8 out of the last 10 years, can someone confirm how many hours per week is this based on? I think I had read somewhere 20+ per week, is this correct?? Thanks in advance

    Crb check

Hi Kaiser Thanks for you input that was a positive result :-) ,if you don't mind me asking did your convictions total 12 months or more? Its the 2 x 6 months sentences making it 12 months that worry me he wouldnt pass the character test, although it was a long time ago i was hoping doing a stat dec and character references like yourself would be enough but the more I read the more I panic lol

    Crb check

Hi Wrussell, Having trawled the forum last night I did find the suggestion to get a subject access report so I have now sent off for this today. We are going to wait to see what comes back on this as he is not positive it is 2 6 months suspended sentences. Once we know what comes back we may look into consulting an agent. Thanks for you advice

    Crb check

Hi adam Thanks for your response, just a bit worried as they were 2 separate 6 months suspended sentences, so totally 12months don't know if he would pass the character test. Your response has put me at ease a little :-) fingers crossed

    Crb check

Hi My partner has a couple of crimes committed back in 2000, one for procession of drugs and also driving while disqualified in 2002:policeman::policeman::policeman:. He can't quite remember the details but thinks he received 6 months suspended sentence for both, we have decided to apply for the police certificate now to get details before completing the application, however having read further think these may both just show as no live trace. I have now looked into getting a full crb check (access ni in Northern Ireland) however they state they only do basic disclosures for people that are self employed and therefore won't show spent convictions we are going to give all details that we think are correct but I'm just wondering if they come back no live trace will C/O want official details of the spent convictions and how I would go about getting these Thanks
  8. Thats great, thanks for taking the time to answer Rupert
  9. Thanks Rupert I will make sure I don't do that, am I correct in that he will still need to come out within the year to activate his visa? Could he activate this on a visit with say is grandmother if we were to go ahead or would he need to enter australia with my partner as his guardian?
  10. Hi Lebourvellec Thanks for clarifying that, I had a feeling it might be easier to include him, just wasnt sure if they allowed that as he didnt intend to migrate initially.
  11. Hi My partner & I are in the process on staring the 189 independant visa. He has a 15 year old son from a previous relationship who will not be coming out with us and will be staying with his mother untill he finishes his education, 3 more years. He may then want to come and move out to be with us. I am just wondering would it be easier to add him as a dependant to our current visa, I take it he will have to come out and activate it in the 1st year & return home. But can he continue to visit us on this visa for the 3 years untill he moves out, possibly coming out with his grandmother & not flying alone. My partner & his son's mother have a good relationship & there wont be any problems with her signing forms etc, just unsure if this is the best way to do it? Or should he just come out on holiday visa's and then can he be added on at a later date? Hope this makes sense, if anybody has any help I would greatly appreciate it
