I have a job to go to out there - an au pair for a family , for 6 months at the moment . I'm thinking I should go and deal with what I have to when I come home . Unfortunatley a sabbatical isn't a option for me

Hi Guys thanks for the comments - maybe good job was the wrong thing to say , perhaps steady/safe (ish) job . I really am in two minds at the moment as to what to do . Go and take the risk and see what happens when I need to come home - my fear is that I am unemployed for a long time when I get home . Or don't go and then regret it for the rest of my life .... argghh decisions decisions !!

Hi Looking to see if anyone can help. Going to Oz on a WHV in a few weeks but don't know if I'm having last minute nerves or not . I'm worried that I'm giving up a good job here and will going on a whv affect my chances if a job when I come back. Can anyone that's been an done this give any advice as to wether they found it any more difficult to get a job upon returning from there time in oz!! Thanks in advance!

Hi all Wondering if someone could tell me what the general consensus is with regards to the amount of funds you should take ( I have a job to go to as a au pair) , I know immi website says 5k but a lot of people I have spoken to say that they haven't taken all that . If someone could help that would be great

does anybody think it is worth while applying for jobs before I start my working holiday visa , or will employers not even look at your cv if you aren't in the country yet? Thanks for any advice

thanks for the help , I have family that are wiling to support me until 'I can find a job , will I still be able to apply for a WHV if I don't have required fund in my bank account, how long does the WHV take to be granted if I apply in NZ?

Looking for some help , is it possible to go to Australia initially on a tourist visa for a holiday to visit family and then if I like the way of life etc then apply for a WHV whilst there ? Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Phillip I am still confused does it mean after my year workin holiday visa can I then apply to go under his visa or will I have to go back home and then when he is applying for PR. I was wondering if anybody could help me, I am about To go to aus on a whv for hopefully 2 years, but my partner is there at the moment on a 457, for (different reasons I couldn't go on his visa at the time) . Can anybody confirm wether I can move over onto a defacto visa after 1 year of my whv, even whilst he is still on a 457. And once his PR is in place then go under his visa so to speak. Thanks everyone, I'm going to do it tommorow ... Excited & nervous ? did everyone go through aus gov website, I was looking online and have visas4oz , googled them a bit and they don't seem 'fake' . I've also been told by someone that you can have a letter from your parents or guardian offering to support you with the $5000 requirement , if your unlucky enough to get stopped at immigration. is it possible to pay for your whv on the immigration website with a DEBIT card not a CREDIT CARD , my application will be applying from the uk if that makes any difference. Any help greatly appreciated
