thanks for your reply I did think I was looking at the wrong form!

My husband and myself are both British, lived in Australia for 7 years and have just moved back to the UK. Our daughter was born in Australia but now we are in the UK we need to get her a British passport. Can someone please tell me if I am filling the correct form out - MN1 Application for registration of a child under 18 as a British Citizen? They when this is done and accepted then we apply for the passport? Thanks in advance

we just moved our 2 cats and one dog from perth to the uk (west midlands) using jetpets and they were really good, less expensive than other quotes and I don't think it was too stressful for the pets as they don't have to be in quarantine when entering the uk. they need need to have had there rabies shots I think it is at least 21 days before they fly. I could never have left them and glad it all worked out well

my friends took 3 months and that was with a big delay due to everyone leaving who worked at their local council. i was hoping for sooner!

because my daughter is Australian, and if she ever wants to move out here when she is older it will be easier if we are also citizens so we can be with her if we decide to.

thanks guys. we applied for citizenship and take the test on the 16th jan. just wondering how long does it take after this to get granted citizenship (presuming we pass the test)??? i want to hand my notice in at work and have to give a months notice. just hoping to leave asap as hubby is sick and cannot work (hence one reason we need to get back to uk for more support!) thanks again!

Me and my hubby are planning on moving back to the UK next year, for number of reasons. We are currently permanent residents but we are considering getting citizenship incase we ever want to move back here (although not likely!). Just wondering if we get our citizenship do we have to do anything else before we leave the country? i.e. do we have to get Australian passports? and what kind of time frame are we looking at? and also is there a set period where you can't move back, i.e. once your citizenship is granted you must remain in Australia for X months? please can someone post me a link or just in the right direction on how i go about applying for british citizenship for my daughter. we are going to move back to the uk next year (we are both british) but need citizenship for our australian daughter. i seem to be going round in circles trying to work out what i need to do! thanks in advance! :ssign16:
