    Hi

Hi guys it was just a thought but wondered how many people go through the stress and cost of the migration process only to be turned down. Also if you are can the issues be resolved?

Thanks candygirl that's great to read, tbh part of my decision of wanting to emigrate was for the dogs also as they love to swim and run for miles. No doubt the nearer I get to moving I too will be a demented giblet lol xxx

Yeah that is another concern if it doesn't work out and then the stress and cost of shipping back. I think we plan on the o/h going out a month or two in advance and hopefully we will have a better idea then. My thinking is if I get everything done that needs doing then we can be ready to ship out. we are going to Perth not quite sure on area yet.

To us it seems normal as they are family members apparently people are finding that's not the case with Australians. I can get references from puppy trainer and plan on getting some extra training before we get out their. It would absolutely break my heart and the children to leave them however I don't want to make life any harder for us in a strange country. Leaving them with a family member isn't really an option as they can be quite a handful for anyone other than me.
  6. Hi guys thought I'd update. We have received an email saying vetassess received and money as left our account so just a waiting game now. How are you guys getting on?

Hi guys I'm reading a lot of horror stories regarding finding rental properties with a dog especially a large one. I have two German shepherd puppies ( will be 15 months and 18 months ) when we go. I am just so torn over what to do as I am worried about the stress shipping them over will be and the cost yet if I think of re homing them how will they and I cope.... Also read that they have to be kept outside mine are indoor dogs and if left outside would bark non stop. Any ideas/advice great fully received :err:
  8. enjoyed the post... I will be taking two german shepherds over ( it's worrying me sick ) though feel a little better especially about the rental, though the pit bull scared me :-/
  9. that answers a few of my other questions. we were planning on arriving as a family but now decided o/h will go out sooner and try and get as organised as possible. it looks like you've bought a house quite soon which is interesting as i didn't want to waste money renting for any length of time. we are planning on selling most things here and starting afresh in oz and renting a furnished apartment for a while. could i ask what you shipped over and roughly the cost?
  10. Hi it's the O/H here.... That sounds very promising. Think we are definitely going to give it a go don't want to be left with ' what if's ' though I am more inclined to go to Melbourne. How long did it take you guys to get organised and out their?
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I have done a preliminary job search and it does seem quite upbeat for people in my sector, however there seems a lot of folks talking about leaving oz , going back to the UK after only being there a short time. I don't have the rose tinted spectacle syndrome, and I will be applying for as many jobs as possible before I leave. We are going to a oz job fair in Manchester next week and will push my cv under a few noses there. Many people are saying things are picking up as elections are over and economy is on the move again. Is this the case and are you seeing positive demand within the jobs market?
  12. Hi. I am the other half( the husband). I have an MSc & BSc in construction law and management And 15 years exp. as a construction project manager. We have applied for a 189 perm res. skilled visa. We are looking at Melbourne for next June . I have to say that there is an awful lot of negative feedback on emigrating to Australia which is somewhat off putting. The entire world is going through a global recession and no economy is thriving right now. That said things are getting better and there are positive signs of growth. From what I can see my profession is in high demand for Australia due to an apparent skills shortage in this sector. My aim is to come out two months In advance of the family to get established and hopefully have gainful employment and somewhere to live. Anyway if anyone can provide any worthwhile advice if would be gratefully received.
  13. Hi we are currently applying for the 189 sub class ( skilled visa ) we have an agent also.
  14. Hi guys I am looking for advice.... Myself and my family are hoping to move to oz next year ( July ) however whilst reading the forums I have become slightly concerned about the jobs market. My hubby fancied Perth I fancy Melbourne and we have 3 children, I am a beauty therapist/ assessor with PTLLS and my hubby is a construction project manager. Any advice gratefully received thank you
