Well I won't actually be backpacking, I will be staying in Geraldton near family but I have the WHV so I can work whilst out there for the 12 month. Then if I feel Oz is for me will be looking into moving out permanently. I'm guessing the general consensuses is to have the travel insurance for the full 12 month? Expense isn't really an issue, just weighing up my options.

Hi guy's, I've been searching through the forum and have pretty much concluded the answer to my questions, but just wanting verification for piece of mind. I will be flying to Perth this month with a 12 month WHV and I'm just on with sorting the necessities: 1. I need backpackers insurance to cover me up until I have had the opportunity to set up my medicare account (so I could take out the insurance for as little as 5 days) 2. Medicare doesn't cost, but tax does contribute towards it as is the case with the NHS here in England. 3. Medicare will cover me for any necessary medical treatments. I think the 3 points above are correct, like I say just wanting some piece of mind. Cheers.

Hi, I will be flying out to OZ with a working holiday visa shortly and I'm currently looking into the best and most secure way to transfer my money over before I go. This site highly recommends using moneycorp, but before using them to transfer quite a large sum I was wondering what peoples experiences were with the company and if there is any problems I should know about?
