I'm actually confused as to how I'm going to waste time at work without this forum once my visa (hopefully) gets granted
You can be like me and still come on here to see what’s going on ;-)- 2

Vic so happy for you. Will miss your input on the forum! Pray for parkesy [emoji6]
Now go get leathered.
Mate currently got the champers in hand. Today is a good day!
You’ll get yours pretty soon no doubt. Seems marketing specialist are low down on list,
I have a couple of mates with marketing specialists apps in. Luckily for me sales managers slightly higher in priority list! You shouldn’t worry won’t be long.
Take care all, sure I’ll still be checking this forum daily, old habits die hard n all that.- 1

Guys, thought I’d have a look at my immi account last night to see on off chance if I also would have some luck on a Saturday and there it was before my eyes..... FINALISED!
It all feels a bit surreal. Can't believe it....been here nearly 7 years....have had 2 457s, and even applied for PR three years ago but had to withdraw application due to circumstance at the time.
Like everyone been a long road of lots of stress and worry that it would never happen.
Nomination & Visa - 01/09/2017
186 TRT
2 ppl LR - UK
Sales & Marketing Manager
NSW
Granted 26/05/2018
I've probably been checking this forum every day for the past three years!! (Since my first PR application)
Wish everyone the best of luck especially the regular contributors in here- 5

Hello Everyone,
I have very simple query, I think it's everyone's question.
Why Immigration taking year to process the applications?
In recent years the processing time was few months only i.e. for ENS 186 application it was only 4 to 6 months and now they taking 12 to 13 months, even they take 8 to 10 months to allot case officer only.
If number of applications increased it also increase the immigration revenue so why don't they add more staff members to process the application?
I think we should raise our voices against the issue.

‘Mr Granger said the program changes and lack of resources meant there were growing numbers of visa refusals that ended up at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
"This results in a significant rise of unwarranted refusals, and transfers time delays and costs over to the Appeals Tribunal," he said.
"The Appeals Tribunal is wasting resources on expensive tribunal members deciding on simple visa matters."- 1

Worth a read this morning guys... current migration program described as ‘chaotic’

A friend of mine got their PR on Monday just gone
TRT Sales & Marketing
Visa and nom applied mid Aug 2017
They’re really is no logic to any of this!- 2

It's not our fault where we born.
You might know that, if you apply from European countries for any visa it take less time than the as compare with Asian countries.
Where is the evidence of this? -
I did my health and police checks four months after I had applied so they still have a bit to go yet. Im hindsight I should have just submitted my application decision ready as it may have been granted by now.
Why do you think that mate? Surely they would still open your file at same time? They wouldn’t open it any quicker would they? And just ask you for medical, etc -
Hello to everyone.... I have applied nomination under 186 trt cook...on dated 29 September 2017. can anyone tell how much time it will take to process....I’m much worried as I have to apply my visa too and my employer wants to sell his business..... I m feeling stressed
Check out the spreadsheet, will give you answer you need.
Average is around 11-12months wait for cook I estimate but have a look and decide yourself -
Nomination applied: 1/6/2017
Visa applied: 1/6/2017
Verification call came at work : 1/5/18
Trt Sales & Marketing Manager
No news since then. I am getting worried now.
Why on earth are you worried? You should be over the moon, they are processing your visa! Not long to wait now.
I would be very happy to swap places with you if you like- 3

Someone’s just hidden the rows. I can’t figure out how to unhide them on my phone

Sort of agree. My case is good proof. Approved sponsor since inception of the visa with 9000 Victorian employees and a huge turnover. Made no difference!
I’m same as you mate, huge company, turnover and decent salary. It’s all about the occupation- 3

I feel medical has more buffer compared to AFP. I have done booth medical and AFP end of Dec 2016, applied nomination and visa in May 2017, nomination approved on March 28th 2018, the CO has requested a new AFP for the visa but not the medical certificate.
I definitely suggest you apply a new AFP if it’s already expired
Phew that’s a relief! Thanks for the info, yeah will defo get a AFP straight away. At least that’s simple and relatively cheap! -
Hi guys, does anyone know how much time buffer they’re giving to medicals expiring? Is it bang on 12 months and you have to do them again when your case is allocated? I know it’s up to CO discretion, etc but wondering if anyone knows more concrete. I’m about to cross the 12month mark of doing my medical as stupidly did it before I applied and wondering if I’m going to have it done again. Cheers
-
It's simple, some occupations are more critical than others and I'm sure they take that into consideration. If you were a CO and had to choose between assessing a doctor's application and a hairdresser's that applied on the same day, would really pick the latter or even leave it to chance?
Fair enough if they applied on same day! but as we all know there is sometimes cases when someone has to wait a year longer! My point is the occupations are already filled by the applicant, they’re here working in that occupation already so why need to fast track? It is what is I know, just saying -
Im not sure if its on skill level either. Marketing specialist for example is skill 1 but they in no way get the same treatment and probably rightly so as GP's, scientists and so on.
I disagree that’s it right to prioritise certain occupations for 186, even if they are a doctor, etc cos at the end of the day we are all in Aus and working for our sponsoring employer, so why fast track? What difference does it make to economy? Except if they are offshore and waiting for visa before coming to Aus, then I understand fast tracking required occupations. #stupidsystem -
GREAT!
This guy/gal is June 1st too. Dear to dream!
My company have employed a special firm to look into why mine has taken so long. One of the most respected immigration firms in Australia apparently. They (the lawyers not immi) have already had all docs updated on the nom side and have taken over my application too. Apparently my company has 100's applications currently in for senior execs and professors and have been talking to immi constantly. It seems my situation may work in the end but its not without a serious detriment to my health!
Wow sounds hardcore probing into immi, great let us know if you find out any info. I’m similar to you, work for big well known Aussie company in senior position so hoping my time will come soon. I applied sept so reckon it will be sept/oct. annoying thing is I did my medical extra early in June 2017 so probs gonna have to do again which is a pain. -
Worth coming out of forum retirement to read this.
Congrats!
There’s been a few since you’ve been gone mate, so things are looking up. They’re working on Apr/May marketing apps by looks of it- 1

I asked to my Ma about https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1INy6sxuUIisgLOT7CcskWLjQjHV_6yVvUBRHceWE_a0/htmlview# this link.he told me he have no idea about this spreadsheet.is this spreadsheet is correct ?
Why on earth did you ask your MA about this??!!- 1
-
One step forward two steps back! DIBP opened my file again on the 29th March and have now requested updated Medical. Why they didn't ask for the Medical back in Feb when they asked for the Police Check is beyond me! I also have to do ANOTHER police check as the once I submitted at the end of Feb did not have my middle name on it! Double check everything guys before you send back. 16 Months waiting now!!! Best of luck to you all.
When did you do the original medical? -
IMPORTANT: - If you have applied for 457, 187 or 186

What if you have done medical and provided police certificates at time of application but 1 2 month passes without your visa being processed? Do you immediately have to get them all done again or will they still ask you for updated ones?- 1
