  1. Yes! Congratulations! The big day has finally come for you! I wish you all the best in your new life and - see you in the Land of Oz ! And now it's time to close this thread ...
  2. :-( Any replies from the CO?
  3. We're here for you, mate . You've had harder steps in this process, waiting is easy, believe me. What's more, they'll have to finish with your case 'till 11/12/13, so you should book your plane tickets - but don't buy them yet!
  4. Don't worry, Tasneem has even opened another account, as a Nigerian , so there'll be even more people here . And since you're the only one left, you'll get it very soon! Now that they've finished with all the others, you've got several COs looking at your files . It's just around the corner, don't loose faith!
  5. I'm moving in January as well - no use of looking for a job just before or during holidays... So you see, you didn't loose anything because of this wait. Apart from a few nerves .
  6. Congratulations Uma! Good luck to you too! You know what? The guy from Nigeria could have been right, they may use alphabetical order - after T for Tasneem comes U for Uma .
  7. Yes! Congratulations Tasneem! Good luck and see you in WA .
  8. The interval is four weeks. That's four weeks after you've taken any action or after their last reply. Take a look at some dates from my timeline: MEDICALS 23/07/2013 & 22/08/2013, VISA GRANT 24/09/2013 . I've had the first round of medical checks on 23/07/2013. Four weeks later, I received the call from IOM telling me they'd made a mistake and that I needed to undergo more tests, which I did the next day - on 22/08/2013. Another four weeks passed, nothing happened, I wrote that e-mail and on 24/09/2013 I received a visa. So, whatever goes wrong prolongs your wait for about a month . It's strange, though, that you've had no feedback since 07/09/2013. I don't know why they're keeping you in the dark.
  9. First time I've written anything to my CO, he didn't reply at all. Although, I only asked for confirmation he received the documents I had sent. Second time, I received a visa grant the day after my e-mail.
  10. I uploaded all needed documents on 17/06/2013 bar medicals and police checks. I would have received the visa in August if the emedical system had worked well. Moreover, it would be even faster if we submitted everything in June. It's possible, of course, there were some checks that were finished quickly, but nobody notified us.
  11. I am 37 and did not have any external checks.
  12. Wow, that's bad . Ahmed, Tasneem, have you written to your COs?
  13. Congratulations Mirwais! Best of luck Down Under !
  14. Links with ... in the middle are shortened by some other webpage and thus not valid.
  15. I received a grant from a different CO. Maybe we had the same one, maybe there's some kind of post election shakeup there or it's a holiday season in Adelaide .
  16. Let me jump in: I'm a Mechanical engineer and have also had 60 points. Although, my IELTS marks were L 8.5, R 9.0, W 8.5, S 7.5, so I guess they were aware I could improve that speaking mark if I took the test a few more times. It was far easier to apply for state sponsorship, though. The delay in my application was purely because of that emedical bug, from which, I suppose, Mirwais is also suffering .
  17. This is an emedical bug, not an IOM error.
  18. Interesting! The clinic here (IOM) blamed it on the newly introduced emedical system. I blamed it on the clinic, but it seems I was wrong. The only good thing is that the examinations here are done in the city I live in, so I only had to take three hours off at work. My advice: you should follow your evisa account daily and when the medicals are cleared, send an e-mail to the CO, like I did. Good luck! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you all!
  19. My experience was not positive. As you can see from my signature, I had the first medical examination on 23/7/2013, where I was told I didn't need an X-ray test (?!). After almost a month, the clinic clerk called me and said I needed to undergo the X-ray... So, on 22/8/2013, I had that test as well. Medicals were cleared on 4/9/2013, while visa was granted on 24/9/2013 - little under a month after the X-ray. You draw your own conclusion ...
  20. Thanks Maya, Tasneem, Ahmed and Uma! Tasneem, Ahmed and Uma - I'm sure you're all going to receive your grants soon. Why don't you try e-mailing your COs like I did? Anyway, I'll be here with you until you get visas. What Aussie states are you going to? I could fly to Australia as early as November, but chose not to, because job offers are scarce then, while hotel prices and unit rent are surely higher than when all holidays end. So, I'm planning the flight for January - no Australia for me in 2013 .
  21. G'day mates, We've received our grant this morning! I can't say it's taken us too long, but it has ruined our social lives for most of 2012 . And a part of 2013. And emptied our bank account . No time for celebration though, the hardest part begins now. To all of you still waiting - keep your heads up! This means there's one less case before yours is finalized. There are lots of things to do before you board the plane, so use this time for preparations. I wish you all the best of luck! See you in Perth ! And Uma, thanks for this little piece of advice! You were right - we got the grant a day after we had emailed them.
  22. Congratulations maya! Your grant gives all of us here hope that ours is just around the corner. Good luck to you as well in your new life in Australia!
  23. Similar situation with me, except that my case isn't referred, or at least I'm not informed it is. I haven't quit my job, I'll do that after I get the grant and buy the plane ticket. But it's not that I like it here - I wouldn't be leaving if I did, so my patience is running out as well. What calms me down a bit is the fact that guy who lodged his application in May got his grant on Friday. My plans to go to Australia this year are ruined anyway - no use sitting there in December. There's plenty of time 'till January.
  24. I check that one almost every working day. And the status is the same: "In progress"... What's more, I'm the only one logging into the account, no sign of anyone from DIAC taking a look .
  25. Thanks, I didn't know that. I found that link on http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/check-progress.htm , a page sent to me by the CO... BTW, following my recent inquiry, I received an automatic response from DIAC in which they say: "Please ensure that you include the following information in the subject line of all emails to DIAC: • The applicant’s full name and date of birth • Case officer’s name • File reference number" You need to write all those things in your subject if you want them to read your e-mail . They also say that they don't acknowledge received documents, so don't hope for confirmation they've received anything...
